I wish you luck, but the reality is that fingerprint readers don't work in Linux and in Windows they are a novelty best avoided because they are prone to failure. HDD / SSD encryption is a far better way to protect a computer.

At the Grub screen, select Advanced Options and then a non-SystemD kernel for this session. If it works, you can make the switch permanent with Boot Options in MX Tools.
