If you open MX Tweak tool (within MX Tools) the first time your panel settings a stored away into ~/.restore folder. Within this .restore folder you'll find the backup of the original .config-folders. You could use the restore-facility within MX-Tools to recreate your original panel settings if you...

Yup, then log out and back in to see the effect. Make sure to back up the default ones that come with MX, in case something doesn't work.
