Re: Remmina not in repositories... how do we add?

There are a lot of gems in the MX Packageinstaller (MXPI). My suggestion is to search for packages in this order: 1. MXPI "Popular Apps" tab - this gives you a list of popular apps you can install with one click from various sources, not just Main Repo. Installing from here will install a ...

Re: Viber is not a Debian package

Where did you download the deb package from? MX is Debian-based, not Ubuntu-based.

Re: Choosing a Linux Distro

MX is based on Debian Stable so therefore it's fixed release and not rolling. "LTS" is generally used by Ubuntu-based distros, not Debian, so MX is not LTS in name either. But there is a volunteer group giving LTS support to extend the life of Debian Stable releases after their official li...

Re: New Theme, tailored for MX-17

Has anybody tried this theme? Just, i'd like some feedback Yep. Using it now. The WM theme has a lighter background square around the window shade button and left-side button, which is a little weird. Re: New Theme, tailored for MX-17

It's great that you're interested enough to start a conversation on these topics. Here are my replies or thoughts on the matter as an everyday user. Well, I'm not really a fan of the Whisker Menu. Allthough it is handy, it looks awful. And theming is a nightmare, because there are several versions o...

Re: Review "MX Linux MX-17 Horizon - Shaping up beautifully" by Dedoimedo

I very much enjoyed reading that review! Dedoimedo doesn't like the vertical, left-side panel, but I hope MX stays with it, as that's what I prefer for my laptops. Also I like that it's another thing that kinda sets MX apart from all the others. I like reading Dedoimedo's reviews, even though I oft...

That's one GIANT File Manager .... good idea if that's your main launch point.

Re: New Theme, tailored for MX-17

I like it. It's a bit like a modernised Greybird theme (and thus not completely flat) with influences from Arc but without Arc's blinding white background and overly faint light grey text. That's the reason I never use the light variant of Arc theme. Also like the checkboxes. My only suggestion, and...

Re: Script to check for Meltdown and/or Spectre vulnerability

Means there are no patches for meltdown in the updated 32-bit kernels. All the usual big distros upstream have not created any so far.
