Re: Repositories

Suggest that you do NOT have the test repo activated unless you are downloading something specific. Test repo can contain unstable items that need to be tested. Gordon, perhaps I am mistaken, however, I thought that whilst you can/need to have the test repo selected, it is only should you use an in...

Re: Repositories

I find the NZ repos/mirrors very inconsistent as in they seem to work only some of the time, and the rest of the time they are either showing some error messages or being extremely slow. It's too much trouble for me so I avoid it. I keep to USA or German repos for Debian, and for MX it's usually the...

Re: KDE shutdown [solved]

That is not Stevo's community MX-KDE respin, which is a complete iso image where Stevo configured KDE4 to run nicely on the MX15/16 base. If you start with that one, things might be easier. The link below gives you info not just on the respin, but also some guidelines if you want to install KDE4 man...

Re: Are the rolling releases became so popular?

Depends on the purpose of the computer, you'd be crazy to use a rolling release for a media server for example or for your parents' laptop, or anything other than your personal computer that you can keep up to date preferable daily. Re: Are the rolling releases became so popular?

I would not recommend rolling release distros to newcomers generally. Like Tim said, it usually needs a little more attention during updates, rather than a simple 'click on button to update' . That said, my interest in rolling distros arose because the first rolling distro I had truly used for an ex...

Re: QupZilla 2.1.2 64bit

Way off base. I'm exploring & trying to understand. I really like MX-16 and we have it running on 3 computers here. I'd just like to have one working alternative to the google borg browser and the behemoth firefox. Please just ignore my posts if they trouble you. I have already tried to give a ...

Re: antechdesigns wallpaper

Development >> General >> Art Discussion , which is where the WP sub-board is, is open to all. So this thread showcasing the wallpapers is in an open section of the forum yet not together with the rest of the art stuff in the open section. That's why I'm confused. It's only Development >> Developmen...
