Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)

Thanks, D_O for solving the issue.

I was puzzled but it only happened on one of my MX16 VMs. I couldn't reproduce it on my original real metal MX15 installation, possibly because papirus was manually installed on it subsequently.

The new MX Package Manager works fine on my MX15 installation, BTW.

Re: Back to the Future

I was poking around that arc-kde github, and the reason that the Papirus devs packaged Kvantum is that they are using it to apply Arc themes to KDE. Their themes will also work with our Qt 4 Kvantum ... I tried downloading their Arc-kde theme's .deb file from their PPA (not their Kvantum because I ...

Their themes will also work with our Qt 4 Kvantum, no issues, though I'm sure that where the Arc and Arc Dark themes bundled with Kvantum came from or...

The type of user you are referring to matters a lot. If it was so much easier to get Linux pre-installed in computers that w...

Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)

I had previously installed the new papirus-icon-theme (with "gtk" dropped from the name) from Test Repo. Opened the new MX Package Manager and accessed the Test Repo. Used search term "papirus":- papirus-icon-theme was found but not marked as being already installed. When I ticke...

Re: Distrowatch ranking

I thought maybe they were talking about 2 different things:
1. whether a user happy with MX16 had any need to install MX17 when it came out;
2. whether MX itself needed change.

Re: correct spacing in Thunar columns

I just go to View>>Configure Columns in the Thunar tool bar, and then untick the "Automatically expand columns" option so that I can set my own widths for each column. Not exactly the same but I don't like Thunar automatically adjusting column widths to exactly the width of the longest lin...

Re: Which kernel image for MX (16 amd64)

Open MX Tools, click on Package Installer, and choose to install the latest liquorix kernels.

MX's latest liquorix kernel is 4.9.0-21
