Re: what is the default or recommended 'DE' on mx?

I think it would be best if instead of referring to another thread in this thread, you actually post a little reminder in the actual thread and ask if anyone can help you with an answer to your question.

Re: More praise for MX Linux...

Aw, Humpty Dumpty didn't mention SparkyLinux.... BTW, Feb 16 he posted a glowing video review of MX on his freedompenguin site https://freedompenguin.com/articles/distro-review/mx-linux-review-mx-17-record/ I think he really does understand the different target users of antiX and MX. Regarding Spar...

Re: what is the default or recommended 'DE' on mx?

Mention of XFCE
- dedoimedo's reviews of MX Linux 16 and 17 at the very least. And his article on what he views as the best XFCE distro of 2017 (ie, MX16).
- page 1 of the MX Linux manuals (under "Introduction")
- Distrowatch.com's page on MX Linux.

A web search can turn up some generic specs for the model but we won't know exactly what specs your own machine has. Re: Importing pictures from digital camera

I think the previous MX releases used Shotwell to automount and open camera storage.

It's no longer a default app for picture management, but you could install it on your system.

Re: ZIP File Containing All Artwork for Individual Releases for Downloading

Just in case the developers choose to eliminate some or all of the current backdrops, I have saved them in my Pictures section. That way I can always add them if the developers choose to not do so. But I really hope they'll keep all of the current ones; they are really beautiful. Lawrence H. Bulk I...

Re: Some email notifications give my http link instead of https link.

Not sure We switched to https some time ago and the address links should be preceded as such. I have subscribed to those two threads to test what I will get. Perhaps you can post a test to each so I can see the result in my inbox. Hi Rich. Thanks. Those 2 threads are fairly active so both should ge...

Re: ZIP File Containing All Artwork for Individual Releases for Downloading

You could just install the package mx17-artwork package (or something like that) from the repo. I think you can also find the mx15-artwork, mx16-artwork and mx16-artwork-extra (for MX16.1) packages as well. You'll also get the grayscale versions of the wallpapers for the login screen in those packag...
