Re: Ideas for a "Quick Start" document

This animated Gif is 1.6MB so I provide a link to Drive. It highlights various MX features with relatively concise captions, to help someone new to MX and xfce to locate key features and settings. https://drive.google.com/open?id=17uIKRDbvy6o9cNZYKjcZWxtu9GEsyyLR Best saved locally and opened with ...

(...)Maybe adding a 'MX Help' entry to the Start menu linked to the MX Welcome screen?
I think if you want it visible and easily discoverable, the title has to be more explicit, e.g. "Introduction for Newcomers".

Re: Ideas for a "Quick Start" document

... After reading much of this thread again, and thinking about it, perhaps all that is needed in a Quick Start document is a list of references to Sections of the Manual with a minimum of extra explanation if needed. That is helpful but perhaps will be better within the context of an introductory ...

The update notifier doesn't seem to work automatically for me either, but it pops up immediately if I do an apt-get update.
Yep, but that isn't very helpful.

Re: LXQt and KDE respins - personal projects

Does the KDE version of the update notifier work? I've never seen it pop up in my VM, even after waiting an hour, and I tend to just give up and update manually from terminal.

The repos are switched to the usual ones I use, ie Italy for MX repos, and HK for Debian repos.

Re: New features in MX Package Installer (Now with flatpaks)

I was thinking that it would be nice to create a "save custom installed packages" listing, basically a .pm file that would list all the packages installed since the MX installation and list that as an entry in Popular Apps tab. That would make reinstalling so much easier. D_O, what do you think? Ve...

Re: New features in MX Package Installer (Now with flatpaks)

... Could be possible to change MXPI so the search string would stay in entry box after switching from say Popular Applications to Stable Repo and so on, switching from stable repo to MX Test repo? When I usually search for some program I do it in this order and I have to re-type search string for ...

Re: New features in MX Package Installer (Now with flatpaks)

For only 2 app installed (~32Mib) ... flatpak needs a big part of HDD (2.8GiB). @oops, One last thing re: Lollypop, it is available in MX17 (either Stable or MX Test Repo) so there is no need to install lollypop as a flatpak in MX17, except as a test. I made the package request quite some time ago,...
