Re: New Review: Five Reasons to use MX Linux

He's unfortunately the person who posts comments on many YouTube MX reviews about how great MX is and in the same breath stating how horrible Manjaro is, sometimes in pretty rude language.

Re: How can I get this theme working properly in MX 17 (possibly the upcoming MX 18 too)

I switched to Linux on MX 16 just a month before MX 17 went available. I browsed xfce-look.org and found a theme called AfterDark that looked extraordiarly good on my aging Acer netbook. However I didn't switch to MX 17 on that thing because that same theme doesn't look quite the same on there like...

Re: MX-18 beta 1 feedback

@asqwerth On the same machine I use the same Conky that I used in MX 17.1 and it is this: ~/.conky/MX-LSD/lsd2/conkyrc Is desktop compositing on? Settings exactly the same as in 17.1? Wait, hang on. Fehlix did some tweaks to some conkys to automatically follow the 12/24 hour time settings of your s...

Re: MX-18 beta 1 feedback

A lot depends on the way a particular conky config was written, and its interaction with your desktop, what compositing and window manager you use, etc. You could probably ask in the conky thread, male might be able to solve the issue if you provide your conky config in your post there. If it's solv...

Re: MX-18 Wallpaper

One of the MX18 wallpapers shows a waterfall - some of it man made - with a small hydro power station on the right. Our town is partly powered by a similar system, but no where near so photogenic. Where is it please ? I think you are referring to Ausable Chasm which was from the MX17 wallpapers. Do...

Re: Whoever committed this wallpaper, thank you

This is my train of thought:

MX18 Continuum ==> Stargate Continuum ==> Stargate the movie/TV series ==> Goa'uld Ra and Ancient Egypt ==> Pyramids!

Re: Processes lacking init script to restart them

Your waterfox repo says it's for Xubuntu 16.04?

Could that be an issue?

Re: Whoever committed this wallpaper, thank you

Hehe! Mine is hardly a 'great mind' but thank you. I've always seen those Mepis mountains as pyramids :) I thought it was good fun myself, a bit of a "joke" placeholder wallpaper. And they were pyramids originally. https://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/3111/3730/1600/451338/MEPISscreenshot.jpg

Reminds me of my own pyramid wallpaper on the MX-18 Beta iso.
I know, when I saw a shot of that in a dev thread, posted by dolphin, I was thinking great minds think alike.
