Re: LXQt and KDE respins - personal projects

Had a quick test of MX-KDE live on thumb drive. Works fine but seems very vanilla Plasma and not MX-ish enough. 1. the MX default papirus icon set isn't installed at all. It's in the LXQT spin. 2. for some strange reason, even though the xapian-apt-whatever package is installed, Synaptic does not ha...

Re: LXQt and KDE respins - personal projects

LXQT: Nice and simple, but lacking in functionality when compared to XFCE. Not my cup of tea but this spin is pleasantly set up. Some suggestions - 1. MX-updater is not in autostart, which I believe it should be. Worse, I couldn't find it in the LXDE menu, even though it's installed. I have now past...

Re: MX 17 Repository: backported XFWM 4.13.x

Isn't 4.13++ of XFWM based on gtk3 rather than gtk2?

If you change that, will you need to change all the other XFCE apps and packages like the XFCE settings manager, panel, whisker menu and Thunar etc that are running in MX17 to the gtk3 version as well?

Re: My Journey

Welcome! We're glad you like MX Linux and it suits your purpose. I don't like to be the one sounding a cautionary note, but it must be noted that Manjaro is a rolling distro and does expect a small amount of reading and checking from the user before each update. Similarly, while the AUR is vast, it ...

Re: MX Unofficial Respin

Welcome. Thanks for your interest in MX and your unofficial respin.

I know nothing much about development and coding, but if Gitkraken is proprietary, then it's not likely that MX can have it preinstalled by default. It's just a matter of what is proper and permitted.

Re: Conky doesn't display correctly.

I think somehow you have 2 instances of the conky in the middle running at the same time, and one is a little shifted to the left and hidden behind the other one. If you open Conky Manager and click on that "Stop" sign in the tool bar, that will hopefully kill all the conkies. Then then apply the mi...

Re: Wildlife wallpapers

I really like the Grey Heron.

The sparrowhawk one is also nice, but I prefer the one in post #54, where the sparrowhawk is surrounded by the foliage. For me, it's just a cooler shot.

That said, I'll probably download all your new pics anyway, for my wallpaper rotation!

Thanks.

Did you select/click on a specific conky? If no conky is chosen, certain options may not be available.

Re: Wallpaper for MX linux By Auro Kumar Sahoo

Not yet ready, I think. Usually there is some internal testing by a smaller team, then a wider one by the forum members.

It's still in the early stage, like I said.

Keep an eye on the forum for when the testing is opened to the forum in general.
