Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

This echo GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub/themes/StylishDark/theme.txt | sudo tee /etc/default/grub.d/99_zz-grub-theme.cfg sudo update-grub would make a theme to be recognised in Neon and will overload the existing installed default theme setup in /etc/default/grub.d/99_breeze-grub.cfg :puppy: EDIT: added up...

Re: MX-18

Yes. Adrian asked what you would like to see in MX18 that isn't already in the monthly snapshots for MX17. MX18, if there is one coming out end of the year, will still be Debian Stretch, just like MX17. Whatever packages and tools are updated in MX17 will be seen in any MX18. It's just a matter of w...

Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

...Its main bootloader from MX to sda3 is instructed to use the configuration (/boot/grub/grub.cfg) from antiX17.2 to sda7 to load. Different grub versions do not play a role. It is simple and efficient. What I can't prove is the UEFI, because I don't own such a machine. However, this should work t...

Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

...If you chainload into another grub, e.g. into Manjaro, which uses now grub version 2.03, you might have issues with "sourcing" via configfile , if some grub-functions have changed within the newer/other version or behave slightly differently or are incompatibe within current running version of g...

Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

@rej, I don't have Windows on my home machines. For what it's worth, here is part of my custom entries in my custom.cfg file, and I'll explain each of the 5 entries at the bottom of the post because I was experimenting and mixing/matching many different ways of doing the same thing, ie, booting into...

Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

.... Edit: Ok, this is only because it is not the same name /boot/grub/ custom_grub.cfg instead /boot/grub/grub.cfg, if no this file is updated # # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE /boot/grub/grub.cfg # # It is automatically generated by grub-mkconfig using templates # from /etc/grub.d and settings from /etc/...

Re: Error starting Service

systemctl is a systemd command, and mx doesn't use systemd to start/stop services by default. It uses sysvinit. https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/systemd#Enabling%20systemd I don't know how the onedrive service is started in sysvinit, or maybe the service is already switched on by default when in sysv...

Re: MX-18

as somebody who writes code I want it available to users as soon as possible, what's the point of coding a new feature if you have to wait half a year to deploy it. I don't think I would ever hold back code and features just for marketing purposes. And that difference in viewpoint comes from the fa...
