Re: New to MX KDE (trying out) [Solved]
Best to search on KDE Store by browser and check the comments. Make sure it's compatible with the PLasma version in MX23. Read the comments and see if other people are complaining about it, etc.

Re: [SOLVED] LTS Kernel, Can I get it and How? [Solved]
Do not look at kernel.org when talking about DEBIAN's LTS kernels. Debian builds and supports their own kernels for the entire 5 year life of a Debian release. THAT is "long term support" in Debian's eyes. And as I already stated earlier in this thread, every Debian release has its own LTS...

Re: LTS Kernel, Can I get it and How? [Solved]
To expand on everyone's explanation so far: 1. Every Debian release will come with a particular series of kernel that they will update and support throughout the security-support lifetime of the release, which is usually 5 years. Debian doesn't use "LTS" within the name, it's just their re...

Re: mx-comfort-thick-border: Not equally thick in each corner?
This is the xfce window theme (the border decoration) .
It only applies when you use xfce and only when the app is gtk2 or 3 or gtk4 AND it's NOT a gnome-origin gtk app that uses Client side decoration (CSD) that bypasses window border themes

Re: Systemd systemctl edit command SysVInit alternative?
pbear I think the OP's point/questions in the other thread are: - "why can't I use systemctl commands in sysvinit?" and - "why can't MX make some tool so that when people apply systemctl commands they find on the internet :p , it will work in sysvinit?" It would appear they were...

Re: MX-21 and MX-23 Graybird Theme Lacks Border Contrast
calinb You may wish to read this page in the MX wiki: https://mxlinux.org/wiki/xfce/changing-border-size-with-xfce4-window-manager/ Among other things, it also contains download links to a very visible, different-contrast window decoration (xfwm4) theme where the border of the active window takes o...

Re: Plasma shell randomly crashes right after I login
I noticed that the options during the login screen (SDDM) are not clickable. If I restart the shell from tty then the login options become clickable and the taskbar is not frozen when I log in. If it's not clickable, please check whether sddm-modified-init package is installed. SDDM has that issue ...

Re: xz-utils vulnerability - MX23 seems to have dodged that bullet?
the affected xz packages are newer upstream versions. Since Debian Stable doesn't have the cutting edge versions, we don't have those packages. It's not that MX did anything special. And MX does have systemd packages installed. It is just that the MX default is to boot into sysvinit. People can choo...
