Re: Who is using SSD's?

I just put one in a Lenovo M58 SFF I bought on ebay recently.

It seemed quite fast. It is going to be a back computer if my wife's computer breaks down.

Looking forward to switching other computers to SSD's as my budget allows.

Re: How many people using Windows 10 in here?

I am not using windows 10 at all, only Linux here but Microsoft sent me a message this morning about a windows 10 upgrade via google on my android phone. I kinda thought that was insulting. But I do have an old windows 7 install on an old computer just don't use it. Hmm.

Re: Updator is broken [Solved]

This morning I clicked on the green box to update and it looked like it did the update but then the box did not turn to black when it was done. I just opened synaptic which showed the upgrade not done so I did the update with synaptic. This computer has been having little glitches like this lately s...

Re: Laptop died and has been replaced

I once spilled most of a large cup of hot chocolate inside a Compaq desktop. I only retired it years later because it was getting too slow with all the stuff that runs in browsers these days. I waited about a month before I touched it. At times like that I am so glad I have lots of used computers ar...

Re: MX Updater not working today SOLVED

Yeah I think it was a timing thing. Had I waited it probably would have fixed itself shortly.
As someone mentioned I sometimes try synaptic if the updater is not working for me at the moment.
I usually just try later. Not really worth bringing up in hindsight.
Going to mark this solved.

Re: MX Updater broke my system

I don't know how much you have added to your system or changed it but a reinstall only takes a few minutes. You should be able to reuse your home directory.
It is just simpler to do that than to try to fix a system that is messed up.
