Thanks so much! I'm loading up the plug-in now.

Re: antiX-19: Geany 1.33 lacks markdown preview
Geany 1.33 uses Gtk3. Older versions used Gtk2. Gtk2 plugins won't work with a Gtk3 main program. The markdown plugin wasn't updated in time for Debian to include it in Buster, but it should be buildable now. I'll have a look... Thanks for whatever you can do. I'm surprised that I seem to be the on...

antiX-19: Geany 1.33 lacks markdown preview [SOLVED]
One of my most-used applications in antiX is Geany for manuscript editing. For this I rely on the markdown preview plug-in, which is apparently absent or non-functional in Geany 1.33 (the default editor in antiX-19). I've searched the antiX and MX forums without any mention, though some online group...

Re: How many of you need a 32 bit distro?
Anticapitalista posted the same question at the antiX forum. Same answer here: I run a laptop and three desktops as 32-bit systems. Vintage machines but there's nothing I want to do that I can't do on them. Without a 32-bit OS, they'd go into a landfill.

Re: what was the first linux distro you used
First Linux was the disk coming with "Point-and-Click Mepis" by Roblimo. I think it was 3.4? Completely new to me in those days and would have gotten nowhere without the help of my old friend Jon DuQuesne, who used to be a pretty active moderator on the old Mepis forum. When antiX came out...

Re: Cannot install apps after attempted java install (SOLVED)
... There was a package you could add for the older MEPIS releases that would go out and get Oracle's Java, then install and set it up correctly, but I don't know if it's still working: http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php Oh man. I just tried out the link on my install of MX and it worked perfectly...

Re: Hiero Outliner/Notetaker for Linux
hiero 1.1 is now available in the Testing MEPIS 12 Community Repository (used for both M12 & MX-14). This was a trivial rebuild from the ppa, no substantive changes required. For clarification: How does an application in the Mepis repos affect its existence as a stand-alone Debian program? Edit...

Hiero Outliner/Notetaker for Linux
Hiero is an outliner/notetaker that fills a real hole in Linux applications, but it only exists (so far) as an Ubuntu PPA. See details here: http://productivepenguin.blogspot.com/2015/07/an-outliner-for-linux.html?showComment=1440353049147#c5449042836523433629 I've inquired about getting a straight ...
