Re: MX-18_January_x64 ISO issues

Code: Select all

Installing Grub
"grub-install --target=i386-pc --recheck --no-floppy --force --boot-directory=/mnt/antiX/boot /dev/sda"
Installing for i386-pc platform.
Wondering if this may shed some light, the above is for non-UEFI install.
So do you have 386 or x64?

Re: Screen going black when it's idle.

Usually better to start another thread when changing subjects, but if you want to have Xfce, in antiX, then
go to Menu--> Applications--> System Tools--> Package Installer--> Desktop Environments, then you can install Xfce or Xfce -lite, or Cinnamon,
and several others.

Re: what was the first linux distro you used

yellow dog, knoppix, dsl, puppy, mepis, simplymepis, mepis-lite, and finally stuck with anitx. I tried a bunch of them at one time or another, mint, debian, suse, slack, Mandriva, sidux, buntu flavors. Every once and while I'll boot into Windows 7 for a laugh and reminder. :snail:
