CNC & Mx Linux

Looking for some suggestions on where anyone in this community uses MX Linux with a CNC/Laser machine. I recently purchased a 3018 Mini CNC and would like to use MX to run it. I've looked a lot of different programs, Grbl, Universal G-Code and Easel to name a few. I didn't get any results when searc...

Re: Anyone buying the new Rpi 4?

Any interest in a MX spin for the Raspberry? I would definitely use it.

Re: Anyone buying the new Rpi 4?

I will at some point. Bit pricey in the Canadian market. The new upgraded specs are a very nice to see; USB3, USB-C and the up-age of RAM all great upgrades to the tiny SMB.

Re: Microsoft would like to bring Edge to Linux

Microsoft needs to do something in the browser world. Edge is just awful and a degradation from IE IMO. IE is the choice of my employer due to OS versions installed on the computers. Although we are in the process of upgrading to Win 10! FF had been my go to for a number of years has it seemed to do...

Re: Help needed with NFS share

No. Raspberry Pi to windows NFS share works. Raspberry Pi to MX Linux NFS does not. Not sure if this is relevant, but during the installation process, there is a screen where you can pick some packages to have installed automatically. The screen is not visible, you have to click on a button to get ...

Re: Help needed with NFS share

Nope not the command line and also not Samba. Trying to use fstab in Raspberry Pi to connect to a NFS share on my MX Linux machine. It connects perfectly to a NFS share on the Windows machine just not Linux. So Raspberry Pi to MXLinux is a no connect, but a Windows box to MXLinux us a go? Correct? ...

Re: Help needed with NFS share

Are you trying to connect thru the command line? I have a NAS and have NFS enabled. I use the smb:// pretext in Thunar to access other computers and the NAS. just place the IP address after the smb command, you will be prompted for a user name and password which you can store in your keyring. After ...

Re: Android Studio 3.4

Opened with sudo and it updated.

sudo /opt/android-studio/bin/./studio.sh

Probably created a root workspace as it went thru a bunch stuff that it does on first startup.

Works find a regular user.

The version in Synaptic stills shows as the CR version.
