Re: Screen Configuration in Virtualbox

Did you install Virtualbox guest additions into the MX guest machine ? I use open-vm-tools-desktop which is available in the MX package installer. I use from the Debian Backports for the latest. Log into the VM open Mx package installer click the Debian backports tab then search open-vm-tools-deskto...

Re: conkey/conky manager

You can have conky manager generate previews. Just click the generate previews button. Its the one with the gear on it on the top. It takes a while so be patient.

Re: Live usb legacy bios and UEFI boot

Yes there is a custom menu option.Thanks. I edited the UEFI boot options to match the legacy boot options and it appears to be working. I am booting into the same system with either boot option. Going to mark it solved. Thanks

[solved] Live usb legacy bios and UEFI boot

I used the MX live usb tool to create a live install of my current system. I set up persistence and boot options which work fine and are retained when I boot it in legacy. When i boot it from UEFI not everything is retained. I'm just curious why i get a different setup with UEFI and is there a way t...

Re: Kali Linux

Kali is a specialized system designed for pen testing, ethical hacking and security assessments. I don't see the point in trying to make MX or any distribution into something else that's already out there. I wouldn't use an ice pick to make a hole in the wall when a drill is designed to do that. If ...

I duel and multi booted till about 3 years ago when i dumped windows completely. I keep a copy of windows in a virtual machine in case i may need it for some...

Re: What was your first Linux distro?

Mandrake linux was my first. Mandrake became Mandriva then discontinued. I believe Open Mandriva is an attempt to resurrect it. I have tried almost every distro out there over the years and have settled on MX and Arch.

Re: Give me a few reasons WHY

MX tools. I like the fact that you can easily make a bootable iso of your current system. You hose your computer you have an instant backup. The other features like boot repair etc. Xfce is completely customizable and fast. I never really liked cinnamon. I realize you can install any DE you want but...
