Broadcastify on my MXLinux

So I wanted to listen in on the FDNY due to the blackout in NYC happening now. HTML5 didn't work for some reason and I didn't see anything else in the list that should work, so I chose Winamp to see what would happen, and that opened up another GUI which gave me the option to choose VLC Media Player...

Re: Are you a cook?

Something I learned as a cook in the Marines was a way to rescue spaghetti from too much seasoning, (which happened a lot because many cooks couldn't or wouldn't follow the recipe). Blend 1/4cup of sugar and 1cup of water, and heat on burner until sugar is dissolved. Then gradually stir into sauce ...

Re: Are you a cook?

I made a big pot of red beans (for red beans and rice) yesterday afternoon and evening. I got a late start on my cooking because I was doing some laundry in the morning. This is the first time I made this traditional Creole Monday dinner* dish from New Orleans, Louisiana (because Mondays were washi...

Re: Are you a cook?

I'm making chicken parm today. It's really an easy dish and darn near impossible to mess up. I can get chicken breasts at 1.99/lb and the rest of the ingredients can be had cheaply also. Makes fantastic left over sandwiches.

A few of us here have had that too, and I think it has been solved for everybody by installing touchpad-indicator from the repos.
Thanks Jerry! I just installed this and I love it!

Re: Touch pads on laptops are the most annoying things!

I have never liked or been able to use touchpads for exactly that reason. I can be typing away (I'm not a touchtyper so I have to look at the keyboard and my fingers) and when I look up at the screen I find that the cursor has moved somewhere else on its own and caused my text to become garbled, or...

Touch pads on laptops are the most annoying things!

I can't get though a few sentences of writing/typing without it jumping someplace other than where it should be. Incredibly annoying! I think the problem is where it's located (underneath the letters, where your palm is), so it's so easy to brush it accidentally.

Re: Are you a cook?

Like all things nothing lasts forever. The mill eventually broke down, and the shop didn't fix it. My dept. wasn't really very profitable because many of the things I made took too long to create. I caught the CNC bug though, and ended up changing careers. It was either that, or going back to bendi...
