Re: Distrowatch reveiw grumbles

Maybe the setup app could have bitmap images on big buttons of what the fonts and icons are going to look like at various dpi and style settings, and ask the user to click the one that looks the best (in a large enough font). So the stock ones will look small on an hdpi screen and tiny on an xhdpi ...

Re: update frequency? removing unused programs

When the update notifier turns green I open it and check what the updates are, and If they don't seem that important I may delay installing them for a day or sometimes two unless I'm not busy, in which case I install them right away. For example if it's only an updated version of Firefox and I'm bus...

Re: sudo doesn't work for apt in terminal

Hit:6 https://updates.signal.org/desktop/apt xenial InRelease has to do with https://signal.org/ which appears to be an app that works something like Viber, working along with your cell phone/mobile and letting you do encrypted text messages and calls over the Internet. If you're still having probl...

Re: Suggestion for MXPI

You can copy text from the install screen in MXPI and paste into Featherpad. (I just tested it.) No need for screen captures.

Re: Can't launch "Users and Groups" Tool in Settings

Edit: I installled antiX User Manager from the stable repo and I have User Manager in my MX Tools app (it may have already been there and there may have been no need to install the antiX p...

Re: The new computer build

it seems you're saying I got this for the lights, I did not. There are people who do not have the computer in the same room. Also, they are not "so popular" here. This case just happened to have the best specs matching what I want for the price. You can turn the blue off and all if you don't want i...

Re: gparted 0.33.0-1

Never mind. I see that a newer version of gparted (0.32.0-2) comes with Debian Buster, so I'll just wait until MX is based on that stable version instead of Stretch. I don't really need to resize any LUKS volumes right now anyway, and if I do later there's always the cli.
