Re: Linux in a Windows world

Seems a kind of round-about way to get confirmed users.
And now I'm annoyed with their duplicity.
Good-bye both.

Re: Linux in a Windows world

Sorry - Freeoffice required that I register before I could download.

Re: Gnucash

Good call, but not that I could find. It sounds like such a little thing, but for me the impact was enormous. It cut down entry errors to almost non-existent. (as in typing inadvertently in the wrong field) This is actually the final impetus for abandoning my previous distro - I had it set up just r...

Re: Gnucash

Thanks for that link. I went to the test repo and upgraded Gnucash to v 3.4 Bummer. The feature that I liked so much in 3.3, which was not in 3.2, is not in this version either. (Unless it's only there in a fresh install???) What the heck? The current and longtime setup has the current entry at the ...

Gnucash

Not sure which forum to bring this up in. Gnucash is up to at least v 3.3 now, but the repositories are all (yes, all...Mint, Ubuntu...MX...) are still providing v. 2.6 If you're using this program, one look at the difference will convince you to upgrade. V. 3.3 has a couple of tweaks that make it p...

Re: MX Distro for "not new" users

So the inference from those dudes is that everybody should try to end up a Slackware guru? Hmmm... I do find Slack to be the most "interesting" distro, anybody else? If you look at Linux distros like different kinds of cars.... You can start with an automatic, like Ubuntu or Mint, progress to stick-...

It seems I have a Facebook account I didn't know about

One of the emails I have must have been used by someone else years ago - I've only had it for about a year. I keep getting emails from FB people - and the "unsubscribe" button doesn't work. When I tried to login, I got told that someone else was trying to login recently, and I needed to prove my ID....

Re: How do I change the desktop environment?

I had a lot of problems with the last distro, which advocated for Timeshift, which always failed on me. Well, at least twice.
Since I found Systemback, I've not looked back. Too bad it's no longer being developed.
I like it so much I might even pay for it.
