Re: What to backup before new 23 install?
Any fonts, icons and themes that you installed by pasting into the relevant dot folders in your home partition? And other useful dot (hidden) config files/folders. Eg your .mozilla folder. I can re-install the themes, but didn't think of my mozilla folder, thanks. I've already backed up my emails s...

What to backup before new 23 install?
Other than documents and files I've created, what do I need to backup to keep the new MX 23 install? I just don't want to forget anything.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: SSD failure - can I replace the SSD and use timeshift?
I always use 'include everything' in timeshift. I'm going to try it, worst case I reinstall. I just wonder if I should look out for anything unusual. I assume then your going to liveusb up and then attempt to restore to that new NVME, creating partitions etc as you go? I will be interested to know ...

SSD failure - can I replace the SSD and use timeshift?
My Nvme SSD has died. Is it possible to place a new SSD (M2 Nvme) and use timeshift to bring back my installation or is it better to install it from new (which would mean a lot of lost time)?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Installing MX KDE on a Windows 11 for dual boot
This guy seems to do it just the normal way (for Ubuntu at least), no keys needed. Strange.

Configuring Samba so that Windows can see it.
I have tried many suggestions found online, but I can't get a shared folder to be seen by windows. I have enabled windows' SMB extensions from appwizard but in networks it just doesn't see the folder. Has anyone done something differently so it can be seen, assuming that is even possible with M$ rec...

Re: Installing MX KDE on a Windows 11 for dual boot
Thank you. In this case, I might as well just install MX KDE on the machine and forget about Windows 11.
P.S. a sh*t move from MS.
