Re: what's wrong with TB 78.*.* vs TB 68.12.0?

In my opinion it is not a good practice to keep highly personal data like the thunderbird profile in any system partition. Keeping it in a separate data partition (ntfs, in case one wants to share it with windows installations), all that has to be done is: -copying/moving the profile to an appropria...

Re: what's wrong with TB 78.*.* vs TB 68.12.0?

Users do use shared TB profiles, e.g either from WinOS shared, or another Linux installation. The new TB version appears to have issues to (or cannot) read TB profile of the older version. So if we would just let TB upgrade to the newest version, what would happen? The newer version will convert th...

Re: LuckyBackUp

Luckybackup was found to be deleting files ! For "Backup Source inside Destination" the command option "Delete files on the destination" is enabled by default, with LB throwing a warning/question during the setup of the task if that is the intended behaviour. Are you sure you di...

Re: MX Linux on Newer Hardware (AHS)

Has anyone recently built a newer PC and ran MXLinux on it, or newer laptops? I was looking at the zephyrus g14 for a laptop perhaps to use one day (long battery life and powerful machine). I recently installed MX-KDE (AHS) alongside Manjaro and win10 on a comparably new HP 455 G7, AMD Renoir 4500u...

Re: Alternatives to Mp3Tag

Mp3tag seems to run fine here using wine (via playonlinux).
Though, being a tagging maniac, I prefer to use mediamonkey (using wine) for all tagging operations.

Re: Canon Lide 200 with MX-19: How to get rid of black vertical bar

Thanks, Oli! 1.0.27 introduced regessions for lots of scanners that had worked with 1.0.25, as far as I can see. In 1.0.28 they are fixed at least for Canon Lide Scanners (50 and 200). Git-cloning the latest version from gitlab: https://gitlab.com/sane-project/backends and following this how-to: htt...

Re: Close Window warning

I remember one of the advantages of a couple of other distros was you could just press and hold the power button to shut down if you liked. The behaviour of the power button can be configured in XFCE-Preferences: https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-power-manager/preferences It is just press (shortly) ...
