Re: Linux in a Windows world

I guess it depends what products from office you use (Word/Writer, Excel/Calc or Powerpoint/Impress) and what functions in there. Excel with tricky macros and VB scripts can cause headache but often also will between different versions of MS office or even Windows (Vista, 7, 8, 10).

Re: When did you start using Linux and why?

I cannot remember when I started using Linux for the first time as I used AIX (IBM unix) even before. I definitely switched to linux in 2014 at home when support for Windows XP was dropped and (more importantly) I no longer needed special windows-only applications like lotus notes and others.

Re: No Grub after install and uninstall other system.

What did you uninstall?

I had a similar problem and installed just another Linux. Is your /dev/sda1 a free partition?

Re: Duck,duck,go

I prefer the duck for more privacy and with several installs I don't have to confirm every time the google stuff.

Re: Has anyone tried Deepin?

I have Deepin on one partition and as DE on Manjaro. The desktop is nice and polished.

Base is Debian and as a speciality they use WPS office. This looks more like MS Office but libreoffice can be installed. A dock at the bottom is standard.

For daily use It's more the software you use than the DE - at leas...

Re: Thunderbird aktualisieren?

Re: Part of my morning routine

I would assume two main reasons for what you see: 1. Few posts means few bugs and issues which is a compliment 2. Many posts either means a lot of bugs or currently much interest in the new version For my part both apply. I'm a happy user of MX for quite some time but never really saw a need to regi...
