Re: MX-17 Release Candidate 1 - Feedback

Yes, the touch just fixes the nonexistent file problem, like testing for the existence first...but both a missing or an empty file are equally bad, since it's really essential the full contents of the file be there. Or it could just be a bad install or a bad spot on the hard drive, too.

Very well, but we need to make sure it's working well for the vast majority of testers first.

Re: MX-17 Release Candidate 1 - Feedback

Just create the empty file with

Code: Select all

sudo touch /etc/grub.d/10_linux
and then see if the upgrade goes through.

I'll add that to the postinst script so we won't have this problem with a missing file, though I don't know how that happens, I think Jerry got it, too.

Re: MX17 requests: gcalctool, gis-weather, moonphase-qt, transcode

I hope you just rebuilt the gis-weather from the MX 15 main repo, or at least disabled the postinst "easter egg" if you did the noobslabs version.

MX 17 Repository: The QMPlay2 Thread

QMPlay2 17.12.11 is now available in the main MX 17 repository. It's notable for being one of the few players I was able to get working with full hardware accelerated va-api video playback for the 6th generation Intel Skylake 520 video on my laptop. QMPlay2 is a video and audio player which is able ...

Re: MX-17 Release Candidate 1 - Feedback

You can get a lock screen for security if coming back from suspend2ram, suspend2disk, or just screen blanking by just installing light-locker. The lock screen setting is in power management settings. I think we should have light-locker installed by default, perhaps the high-security settings remain ...

Re: I can not install Teamviewer

On teamviewer forum: Debian 8 is no longer officially supported. Currently, you can enforce installation if all Host dependencies are satisified (and you know how to do it), but: - It will not open the Computers & Contacts list on Jessie (please do not submit bug reports) - We will most likely ...
