Re: Since update to MX23, no picture in AV1 codec videos
Wow, that's a postage stamp sized video, just like we used to have two decades ago. The sound data is twice as large. Width : 256 pixels Height : 144 pixels Your Nvidia card probably doesn't support AV1 hardware decoding, and VLC tries that by default. That can be turned off in its Input/Codecs sett...

Re: Important Wayland- COSMIC milestones on the horizon
Hopefully will do better in cosmic affairs than the SpaceX Starship 3 trying its bellyflop reentry over the Indian ocean Thurs. Apparently it lost attitude control, chickened out, and tried a cannonball (tail end first) position instead, before exploding. Like I would doing a 100 km high bellyflop. ...

Re: Any tool in Debian similar to 'nwg-look' in Arch? [Solved]
Firefox considers .debs downloaded directly from Debian as unsafe, for some unknown reason (can't recognize them as scannable for viruses), but you don't just go downloading Sid deb files and try to install them on MX. It's a good way to break your system, along with trying to install the Go languag...

Re: 'nwg-look', very good tool.
We have ocs-url in the repo which allows for easy install of themes directly from the freedesktop "look" page into the user's home folder. Use at your own risk, though. KDE themes, etc. can be browsed, installed, and auto-updated with the built-in KDE tools, of course. Also at your own risk.

Re: Since update to MX23, no picture in AV1 codec videos
Nope, w64codec (only has one (1) 64-bit codec) which dates back to early days of Net video a couple decades ago, so doesn't have a clue what AV1 is. VLC can play AV1 via ffmpeg bindings, so the fault probably lies with whatever jdownloader2 is doing. Try installing mediainfo and getting some informa...

Re: I wan to have a very short password. [Solved]
A very strong password can be easy to remember and type:

"0000000000000000000000.d0g " is a huge haystack to search for the needle, for example.

Re: Any tool in Debian similar to 'nwg-look' in Arch? [Solved]
The Go language is called "golang" in Debian.
XFCE currently does not use Wayland, so this tool may be useless even if successfully built. Maybe you were using GNOME with Wayland in Arch with it.
Code: Select all
sudo apt install golang
