Re: MX 17 Repository: The EZthumb Thread

Apparently not much progress there! I know you provide text .po localization files with the source, and have the Makefile use the msgfmt program (provided by gettext) convert those to binary .mo files and then install them. If the Makefile is missing this, the packager has to write some instructions...

Re: Wifi Asus USB-AC51 doesn't work

Remember that the very smart guys on the Ubuntu forums tried their utmost to get it working and gave up. Maybe you can sells yours and get one that is known to work OOTB on MX.

Re: package request: recent wireless-regdb regulatory database

I missed that--I'll try the newer version in Ubuntu as a template for the latest 2018.10.24 release. Debian still has the 2016 version.

Re: REQUEST: Pandoc

They do provide a 64-bit deb in case we can't: https://github.com/jgm/pandoc/releases/tag/2.5

Upstream Debian and Ubuntu only have 2.2.1 ATM.

Re: Youtube-DLG errors out

Yeah, the "Update" should actually read "Update the internal youtube-dl script", but maybe that was too long... Clipgrap will monitor the clipboard while it's running and pop up a notification if it sees a URL it can grab, so it works differently in many ways than youtube-dlg. I just wish it had an ...

Oh, snap! Do containerized Mozilla apps violate the licenses?

Containerized=snap, flatpaks, and appimages

According to the Pale Moon developer, they do: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=21246
and is why you don't see PM in a container format. I wonder what Ubuntu would say about their Firefox snap package?

Re: Youtube-DLG errors out

Please make sure to tell us what version of youtube-dlg you installed and how you installed it. Also what Youtube URLs are giving you the errors, please. The package version in our repo is called youtube-dl-gui. It works for me for a random Youtube video URL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce9PISHc...

Re: Wifi Asus USB-AC51 doesn't work

I don't know about regulatory.db, but the mt7610u.bin file is in the firmware folder in this github: https://github.com/ulli-kroll/mt7610u

Make sure to read the instructions. I know the driver build fails on a 4.19 kernel, but

Code: Select all

sudo make installfw
will work to install the mt7610u.bin firmware.

MX 15/16 Repository: The EZthumb Thread

EZthumb 3.6.7 is now in our test repository. As far as I can tell, we have the only deb packages, since I was unable to find any others on the Web, so I packaged it from the raw source code from scratch. Running the builds through clean pbuilders showed a couple build-dependencies I had missed when ...
