Re: How to install Software Center?

Sometimes you also have to install the recommended packages to get full functionality; Debian does that by default, but MX doesn't.

However, it doesn't look like gnome-software has any recommended packages.

MX 17 Repository: The Shotwell Thread

We now have the latest 0.30.1 release of the popular Shotwell photo management program in our test repository.
This release is supposed to introduce facial recognition. Does it, and does it work? Test it and see for yourself!

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Krita 4.1.3 built, but now am doing 4.1.3.1. 4.1.4 is where they introduced some new code that fails to build with our gcc-6. /build/krita-4.1.5+dfsg/libs/flake/text/KoSvgTextChunkShape.cpp:733:39: error: conversion from 'const char [2]' to 'QChar' is ambiguous return text[0] == " " ? If we can test it ourselves, can you give us a link to the problem deb package?

Re: What might cause Snapshot temps to rise?

I'm not sure how the antiX kernel you're using handles the CPU speed scaling, but odds are it's using pstate for that processor, which gives you only a "performance" (speed goes up and down) and "powersave" (keeps CPU at slow speed) settings. You can check this by installing indicator-cpufreq and ri...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Finally got Krita 4.1.3 to build by following this fellow Debian backport-crazy guy's example I just found on the OBS:

https://build.opensuse.org/project/show ... -xfce-4.12

Maybe I can then get Krita 4.1.5 also built, as well as some of the other newer ones he's got like obs-studio.

Re: Package request: FreeTube

Well, we could just shove the big fat 64-bit Electron app into a deb* and tell all the 32-bit users tough luck, but does it have any advantages over SMTube and QMPlay2's Youtube playback, which takes up less disk space and has 32-bit packages?

*That's how the debs on their download page were created.
