Re: Unmet Dependencies (libfontconfig1)

Thank you for your responses. I decided to take chance and temporarily enable the testing repository to upgrade the libfontconfig1 package. All seems well, however I know this approach is generally considered risky. Tom Naturally nuts no pharmaceuticals required If you consider maybe one chance in ...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

I built Iridium with our clang-5.0 5.0.1 on Stretch, but I couldn't backport that version to MX 15 to see if I could build Iridium with it there. I backported clang-4.0 to MX 15, but got build failures using it to try and build Iridium...so I'm going to see if I can backport the new 5.0 5.0.2 releas...

Re: Power Saving improvements from Fedora 28

No, iuvolt does not require the p_state governor be running, just an third-gen Intel processor or above. I use it with both Debian-style and Liquorix kernels, and "sudo i7z" shows that Vcore does drop by the amount I specify. BTW, -170 mv caused a few lockups after some hours on my i7, so I backed o...

Re: Package Request: Temps

Since it's an Electron app, which means it's written in nodejs and bundles a version of Chromium to run it, it's going to be around a 35 MB download plus whatever size it extracts to on disk; probably well over 100 MB. So we could put it into deb files for the repo pretty easily...it's just that the...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Iridium Browser 2018.5.67 (based on Chromium 67) (64-bit only) for MX 17; possibly for MX 15/16.

Re: Unmet Dependencies (libfontconfig1)

There's already a backport in the MX test repo to support GIMP 2.10. Obviously the Iridium folks didn't test the compatibility of their new build, even though they say it's good for Jessie and above. Let me me see if I can rebuild it on vanilla Stretch for our repo, since we already have the previou...

Re: Power Saving improvements from Fedora 28

For Intel third generation and up processors, have you tried undervolting the CPU and integrated GPU (if turned on) with iuvolt? So far, undervolting the CPU and cache by 170mv and GPU by 120mv for the i7 8750H on the new laptop seems to be stable.

Re: Request for Waterfox [SOLVED]

Thanks for adding Waterfox to the repos ----- However I find it weird you need to upgrade MX Installer in order to see the latest apps added to it. It's not the way a package installer is supposed to work IMO. The package installer program did not get updated, only the list of packages/scripts that...

Re: Request for Waterfox [SOLVED]

Yup, right there at the top...it's the same Waterfox repo as the MX Package Installer is now adding, so they aren't building it, either.
