Re: Package request Google Earth Globe 6.0

Google has very recently stopped any data going to anything other than the 7 versions, so that why everyone, MX included, has removed it. Google has also removed the 6.0.3 .bin package that googleearth-package would download and convert to a deb file. The other alternative to using the standalone 7 ...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Midori Browser Thread

I think it loses a lot of points because it doesn't support HTML5 streaming (i.e. something like video chat in the browser) based on what I can see in the results. I asked on the Debian forums if anyone using straight Debian would file a bug against the package requesting an update in the Debian rep...

Re: MX and Devuan?

I think Devuan could get their user base up by adding MX on top of their base themselves.

Mexuan? Devumx?

But I wonder how strong the "not invented here" sentiment runs there.

Am I right in thinking Flash won't work with Midori?

Chris
Some would consider that a feature. ;)

I've also added the latest Netsurf 3.8 to the test repo for an even more basic browser. No Youtube playback in the browser at all--users say, "that's why we have mpv installed!"

Re: MediaHuman Youtube Downloader

What can it do better than ClipGrab, already in the main repos?

Just copy a link to the clipboard, then tell Clipgrab what format you want to save it in. MP3, for example, for a Youtube video.

MX 17 Repository: The Midori Browser Thread

After a long period of seemingly little activity, the developers released a completely rewritten Midori 6.0 on Halloween 2018, and we've packaged it for the test repo. It also switched to a libwebkit2 separate browser engine instead of libwebkit, which means that can be updated to fix security bugs....
