Re: Package request - Gmvault (Gmail Backup)

nanoSYS, did you manage to install it and run it with a manual method? It depends on a package we don't have available in Debian or Ubuntu, python-imapclient, and I can't find anywhere to port that from yet, either. I have built a gmvault package, but it won't run due to the missing module. I think ...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

openjdk-8 8u141 security update from Stretch, lots of security fixes.

So far the 4.12-8.1 Liquorix kernel has been running fine on my laptop.

Re: How to install flash for Vivaldi browser?

I wonder if Vivaldi uses a similar folder in /etc as Chromium or Iridium uses, then we could copy the same 10-flash file into it to get it working with adobe-flashplugin.

Re: Can't backport GNOME, but I tried a Cinnamon 3.2 backport

But you're running the MX 15 kernel, so that's good, right?---- Anyway, MX 16 builds upon the MX 15 base, so uses its packages, just like many of the packages are from Jessie. The Net says you have a "Bay Trail" type processor, and the kernel developers say that they are still adding impro...

A little trick to find out exactly when you installed a Linux OS

Assume that /dev/sda1 is your root partition, change it in the command if necessary:

Code: Select all

sudo dumpe2fs /dev/sda1 | grep 'Filesystem created:'

Voila! Also works on separate home partitions--mine dates back to 2012.

Re: Can't backport GNOME, but I tried a Cinnamon 3.2 backport

1. Enable our test repository in Synaptic's settings for repositories. 2. Reload in Synaptic. 3. Install cinnamon-core in Synaptic. This works for me on the Live 16.1 session. If it does not work for you, please close Synaptic, open a terminal, then run sudo apt install cinnamon-core if this fails, ...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Built the new Liquorix 4.12 kernel, which is currently based on vanilla kernel 4.12.8, in the OBS. The fglrx AMD driver & broadcom-sta-dkms won't build on it, but Debian has a fix for the broadcom upstream that I can backport. I'll have to look in the ARCH AUR or elsewhere to try and find a fix ...
