Re: MX-17.1: Could not install "libx11-dev" due to upgraded "libxcb1"

I build packages now as much as possible in isolated schroots using pbuilder and sbuild, so don't have to worry about those issues with azpainter, which will build on plain vanilla Stretch, so that's how I do it. Those kind of hassles are a thing of the past with those packaging tricks.

Re: package request: recent wireless-regdb regulatory database

2018.10.24 headed to the test repos. Since it's newer than Buster's ATM, that one that we might have to also build for MX 19.

Re: Two things missing from every Linux distro's

Well, that's worse than the old one. Let me update the ID database and try again: sudo update-pciids && sudo update-usbids https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=81806a4ddd Much better! I guess we shipped with the old Stretch hardware ID database--can Adrian's monthly ISOs update these, or can it be adde...

Re: Two things missing from every Linux distro's

MSI at least let me know what wi-fi chipset and most other hardware was going to be in the GP63 8RD on the Amazon page before we bought it, so I had a snapshot with the latest required kernel and added firmware (not yet in any Debian package) ready to install when I got it back in May. Now it just w...

Re: Oh, snap! Do containerized Mozilla apps violate the licenses?

Well, maybe. But this wouldn't be the first time that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, either. It will be interesting to see Moonchild's take on this fact, though. We have plans to provide Snap binaries of Firefox and once this is ready, we will probably propose also them for...

Re: Wifi Asus USB-AC51 doesn't work

Remember that the very smart guys on the Ubuntu forums tried their utmost to get it working and gave up. Maybe you can sells yours and get one that is known to work OOTB on MX. Is that's about building the package? Is there any issue with building that package? I assume they gave up to set all auto...

Re: Increase the resizing space for the windows in XFCE4?

Why didn't we rebuild the thick-grip greybird themes for MX 17 again? It seems that they work well. I'd also like to get the newer arc-theme with thicker borders into main, since that's the default and will be an automatic update--everyone using it just magically gets somewhat thicker borders, thoug...

Re: xfwm borders theme

I once, in another galaxy, used bright green and red window borders for active and inactive windows, for easier targeting by the mouse pointer. I do like the idea of thicker borders and have been meaning to address this issue with some tinkering. *keeps following thread.... I am intereste...
