MX 17 Repository: The Fish Shell Thread

We now have Fish (Friendly Interactive SHell) 2.7.1, backported from upstream Debian, in the test repository. This should fix issues with some plugins.

Now updated to 2.7.1 in the test repository. This fixes some plugin compatibility issues, among other things.

Re: MX-18

Buster won't be released at least until deep into 2019, so we won't have one based on that before then.

We are going to test how well in-place upgrades instead of reinstalls to the new base go, too.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The qBittorrent Thread

I wonder if it could be related to the version of libtorrent-rasterbar9 in use. Can those with issues check the version in Synaptic or "apt policy libtorrent-rasterbar9"? We do have a newer version in testing that you can try if 1.14 blah blah is the one you're using. $ apt policy libtorrent-rasterb...

Re: Gdebi is frozen

Do you still have it stuck on your screen? Some packages take a very, very long time to unpack and install on older machines, notably ones like the Papirus icon debs, so first make sure it's not one of those situations, perhaps by letting us know and test the deb if it's free. You can also try gdebi...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The QuteBrowser Thread

You can download and install libqtwebkit5 from here if the NZ repo still has trouble. Most users will only need the lib package, but KDE users might also need to upgrade the qml-module package at the same time.

Re: mx-packageinstaller (MX15/16) unmet dependency -- xdg-desktop-portal-gtk

Just add this to the Depends:

Code: Select all

flatpack (<< 1.0) | xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
Keep the flatpak dependency earlier in the list. This way, the xdg package only gets installed if flatpak is 1.0 or greater, which I'm guessing is the version where some packages started needing it.
