Re: DW: Musing on distros after prolonged use

I have broke things using Backports in Debian Stable and they are very conservative. I don't recommend Backports unless your computer won't run, or you can't get your work done without something from Backports. MX is unlikely to break on you using default settings and using the recommended dist-upg...

Based on this report, I'm backporting libpciaccess from Buster.

I really can't see how this is related to MX Linux. This thread should be moved to Chat or the like.

Re: MX 15 Repository: The palemoon thread

Pale Moon 28.3.0 is now in the main repository and should be propagating through the mirrors. This is a major development and bugfix release. Packaging changes include shipping a much better copyright file and also shipping copies of the MPL 1.1 and MPL 2 licenses. Changes/fixes: Added AV1 support f...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Virtualbox 5.2.24 from Sid. Will it build on the 4.20 kernel? That will be tested.

Re: DW: Musing on distros after prolonged use

SMTube was a poor package to pick as an example, since we've been able to keep building and pushing the latest versions into our main repos to fix the breakages caused by Youtube. No need to install a whole new distro release on MX or antiX at all. What distro wouldn't provide the latest version for...

Re: Cannot open loaclly stored .html files in Firefox Version 64.0.2

Yup, the theory that 64.0.2 has disabled it is so easily tested.

Code: Select all

locate .html
no doubt you have some installed as part of package help files

Code: Select all

firefox <entire path of one of those results>
Theory disproven.

Re: Dell XPS 15 9560 and MX 18

If your laptop locks up during boot when starting the graphical display you may need to add a kernel parameter to set acpi_osi="!Windows 2015" or some variant.

This is a known ACPI problem with 2017 Dell XPS 15 and others. Refer to Bumblebee github issue #764.
Debian Bumblebee wiki.
