From the same series, XnView. The program has been used by me for many years for processing and cataloging photos.
I see that XnView MP has Linux deb packages, so is that the one you meant?

Once you've installed whatever you need from deb-multimedia, you don't need to keep it enabled. In fact, that's the worst thing you can do.

I wonder if having deb-multimedia enabled beforehand messed up your gstreamer dependencies, since the Stretch Kivy 1.9.1 will install without deb-multimedia.

Re: How to install .RUN files?

What PDF readers have you tried? There are quite a few in the repos, and Master PDF Editor is easily installable with the Package Installer. Installing .run files should be your very last resort, not the first thing you turn to.

Re: Installing MX Linux on my laptop

@ nomko With a similar set up to yours, used gparted to divide the ssd as root 30gb home 65 gb and put swap into remaining space. There's information about Gparted and a link to the Gparted Manual in the MX User Manual. I don't see why the OP has to have home on the SSD--my laptops have Win 10 on h...

Re: My password lets me in to MXL, but then doesn't work

It might be requesting your "root" password. Do you remember what you put in for that during the installation?

But if you use sudo, your user password should work. What do you get with

Code: Select all

sudo apt update

Re: MX-17 to MX-18 update testing

Yes, we already went with the same kind of transition with MX 15 to MX 16, both of which had the same Jessie base.

We're still going to label our packages as MX 17 versions, since they will be compatible with both 17 and 18, unless they are specifically for MX 18, such as artwork.

Re: Problems after todays updates (SOLVED)

So is it safe yet to install all those updates? Usually when I get notification about new updates, I run updater immediately, but now when there was 92 :veryhot: updates available I decided to check from here was there any reason for that big amount of updates. Yes, they are part of the updates for...
