Re: Magazine's approval!

Is that issue 242? I guess we have to wait a few days for it to hit the Intertubes--linuxformat.com still shows 241. Edit: Ahh, must be 242--here's a legal "sampler" of some pages. Too bad MX and antiX didn't make the cover even though taking the top spots in class... https://issuu.com/futurepublish...

Re: Request: Latest MAME

32-bit builds fail, which I seem to remember they also did years ago, with a "virtual memory exhausted: can not allocate memory" error, even though they are using real memory in Virtual Box. The 0.200 version in Buster also fails the same way. Trying an OBS build to see what happens there: https://b...

Re: Request: Latest MAME

Update: this is one of the ones that fails to build in my convenient and faster pbuilder setup, but it did succeed on the first 64-bit build in Virtual Box after a long compile process. Now setting up a 32-bit build.

Re: How does kernel update/upgrade ?

You actually need linux-image 4.18.8 and linux-headers 4.18.8, or you can use the "kernel" section in the Package Installer to install 4.18.6 from stretch-backports, or the latest Liquorix kernel from our test repo--we should have a 4.18.9 version in there soon. The PI automatically installs the mat...

Re: Can't connect to the internet via public library connection

Well, what does

Code: Select all

inxi -N
say about your networking hardware? Maybe you have one of those Realtek chipsets that don't have a kernel driver, and you'll need to get and build the source.

Re: MX 15 Repository: The palemoon thread

We now have a major upgrade to Pale Moon 28.1.0 in the main repository. Changes include: - Updated NSS to 3.38, removed TLS 1.3 draft version check since it's considered final. - Reinstated RC4 as an optional encryption cypher for non-standard environments (e.g. old routing/peripheral networked hard...
