Re: MX 15/16 Repository: The VLC Thread.

Accidental--it must be because it was automatically added by the Debian packaging process when it was built in Virtual Box. (dh_shlibs). That should only currently appear for the 32-bit version. Let's see if I can figure a way to get rid of it. Hmmm..the easy way in the MX 16 VM would be to uninstal...

Re: MX 15/16 Repository: The VLC Thread.

VLC always seems to be stubborn. I tested an upgrade from the 2.2.5 Jessie version and libs with the pulse, fluidsynth, and notify plugins, and the libraries upgraded, but the plugins held back the vlc upgrades. I had aptitude then try and install the 2.2.6 version that was available, and it said it...

Re: Kernel variations

Hmmm--let me try rebuilding the SteamOS 4.11 kernel in a Jessie OBS repo, just to add to the mix :p . I have one already set up with all the extra backports necessary, left over from an attempt to backport Debian's 4.10 kernel a month ago. I'll hazard a not-very-risky guess that this kernel is optim...

Re: MX 15 Repository: The VLC Thread.

After Jessie updated its standard version to 2.2.5, videolan.org released a 2.2.6 security bugfix, and it's now in our test repo. Users are urged to upgrade to the more secure version. I reused the standard Jessie 2.2.5 build template, except I added support for HEVC (libx265) video encoding. It's a...

MX 15/16 Repository: The Adobe-flashplugin Thread

We have received permission from Adobe to distribute their Flash plugin binaries, so we can emulate Ubuntu and package both the older NPAPI Flash and the newer Chromium-type Pepperflash in one package, and keep that up with the frequent updates. This means that the Flash installer packages and MX-Fl...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Had a fun time with 32-bit ffmpeg 3.2.5, but finally figured out what extra flags to switch. Now working on the security fix vlc-2.2.6 that just came out. I am versioning it so that the Jessie version of same release should update over it if they decide to make it a security update in a couple weeks...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

adobe-flashplayer, which has the plugins in the package now, because we have permission from Adobe to do that.

ffmpeg-3.2.5 from upstream Debian.

Re: Remove entry from Whisker Menu under Internet

Also, you could try

Code: Select all

sudo updatedb

locate teamviewer | grep -i .desktop

Though it seems to be case sensitive...let's see if there's a way to be insensitive.

Re: MX 15/16 Repository: The linux-liquorix kernel thread

The SteamOS Nvidia drivers were changed to have users install the new Vulkan support, so I'm trying to revert that until we know more about what the heck it is. I could have their unaltered drivers in another OBS repo for experimentation, though.
