Re: Preliminary packaging for aafm

Do you have any 51-android related files in /etc/udev/rules/rules.d? It has to have at least one that lists the manufacturer's USB ID from the lsusb command, as in the README file on the github link I posted. I already had one that came from somewhere, and it worked. Can you connect to the phone wit...

Preliminary packaging for aafm

This is a Python front-end to adb, which lets you manage files on your Android phone without the often-troublesome mtp interface. https://github.com/sole/aafm MX seems to create an /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android-hs.rules file already for Android devices, so I didn't have to create a file in that folde...

Re: English Bob Video

I had to laugh at the troll at the bottom of the comments "absolutely beautifully looking" is very subjective. It looks very dated and amateurish in everything from the theme, layout and icons to the wallpaper and widgets. When asked what he liked, he could only say "make it like Deep...

Re: MX-16/MX-16.1: Please upgrade Marble to the latest version

No idea how to change the path; I assume it could be hard-coded. I did a little Google Search, and almost instantly found an AppImage of a newer Marble, if you want to try that out: https://s3-eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/ds9-apps/index.html#!/marble-master-appimage%2F It was downloading very slowly i...

Re: After last dist-upgrade MX-16.1 cripples if I don't boot with systemd

Though it is a good idea to save important data before a reinstall, if it's in your home folder, you can choose to save your home folder during an install. That should keep your important files from being lost. It's worked for me quite a few times, and works with or without a separate /home partition.

Re: After last dist-upgrade MX-16.1 cripples if I don't boot with systemd

I think because text can be automatically captured by search engines and malicious bots, whereas a screenshot would take a human to read and manually type out in order to capture. I think his inxi switches are meant to leave out personally identifiable information from the result. Still don't get i...

Re: After last dist-upgrade MX-16.1 cripples if I don't boot with systemd

Yes, no doubt one of those backports packages are the culprit. Maybe one of them requires systemd to work correctly, like tlp or usb-modeswitch. If you can run without a package, (most people can without those first two, for example) try removing it, or downgrading it back to the previous version in...

I'm still not getting why a screenshot instead of text. It's easier to edit anything out of text that you don't want to share.

Re: After last dist-upgrade MX-16.1 cripples if I don't boot with systemd

For your security can you attach a full screenshot from ( System : and under ) of this command: It can be one, or more screenshots. inxi -Fxxxzdpluor -! 31 This command shows the most important parts of your computer which will be visible only from logged users, hiding sensitive info of your system...

Re: After last dist-upgrade MX-16.1 cripples if I don't boot with systemd

If you would right-click on the apt-notifier icon in the tray, pick "Apt-History", and then copy and paste what those 170 MB of updates were the other day, that could provide some clues as to what happened. I'm not seeing those kinds of updates to a base MX install myself.
