Re: hello all

Hi Stevo, I just installed MX-17 386. I am unable to install KDE standard or full on it. I have been able to install okular, dolphin and kwrite on it. However, I do want to be able to install KDE on the system, as I have tended to use that as my base environment for many years. We have KDE standard...

Re: hello all

Welcome!

You can also install and run KDE applications in our XFCE desktop without any difficulty, as some of those are "best of class".

The demo user can access other drives beside the one in RAM, you just need to authenticate with the root password "root".

Re: MX-17 Torrents

Is anyone using the new qbittorrent 4.0.2 from the test repo? I'd like to get that one into main.

Re: how run slimjet as root, thanks

This is an XY problem. Instead, fix the reason why you can't run it as a normal user, which is infinitely the better solution.

We also have virtualbox-5.2.2 in the test repo. I'm using that instead of the Oracle version after the upgrade to MX 17. So far, so good.

Re: aptik

I ended up using it to save the package list from my janky in-place upgrade, then reinstalling the packages on a fresh, home-folder-saved install of MX 17-x64. It worked great when I did that.
