Re: [Resolved] ]missing microcode after Liquorix kernel update

That seems to be exactly the same thing that building it the Debian way with the packaging toolset does, except a lot more work.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Waterfox Thread (64-bit only)

Waterfox 56.2.12 turns out to need a version of rustc to build that's only on Buster, so we only have built-from-source packages there. Instead, I wrapped their AppImage in a deb package for MX 15-18, and MXPI will install that instead when they get to the repo. You can get the waterfox-appimage pac...

Re: MX Linux Boots Into Blank Desktop

Is this a Dell laptop? They often need to have the nouveau driver driver blacklisted at boot, or you do get the Black Screen of Death at boot. You don't need that after installing the Nvidia drivers, but it then may need another boot cheat to get working correctly.

Re: MX 17/18 Repository: The Foliate Epub Reader Thread

And we should soon have today's 1.5.2 release in the repo: Fixed table of contents navigation not working with some books Fixed not being able to zoom images with Kindle books Fixed not being able to open books with .epub3 filename extension Fixed temporary directory not being cleaned after closing

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Today's Foliate version, Foliate-1.5.2.
Also, since Waterfox 56.2.12 won't build on MX 17 /18 or 15/16, I've instead wrapped their appimage into a new waterfox-appimage package that will work on those releases.

Re: AMD MESA driver avail. for MX Linux?

It's installed by default and is working as expected. You can also run "glxinfo" in the terminal to get some information on the GL rendering.

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

A rebuild of Foliate 1.5.1 with a change in dependencies per the developer.

FreeCad 0.18.3, at least for MX 19. MX 17-18 TBD.

Waterfox 56.2.12 for MX 19. Keeps getting build errors on MX 17/18.

Re: MX 17/18 Repository: The Foliate Epub Reader Thread

Just built the latest 1.5.1, which fixes the broken F9 (sidebar toggle) keybinding as well as updates translations. You can get them early here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VUGO8uoTcdMrParYJBFPEJiehd3sTFtY The developer might include my build fixes in the debian folder that's included with the...

Re: LibreOffice recommends: Upgrade to LibO-6.2.5

I see the fixed Buster version has also now been backported to stretch-backports. It seems to me that it would be a good idea to replace the insecure 6.0 version in the MX main repo with the latest debs from stretch-backports. I seem to remember some users had reservations about an upgrade, though, ...

Re: fresh install of MX Linux 18.3 - which steps are the next ones?

I will say the first thing after install definitely should be at least to skim over our very nice user manual to see what it covers. That would answer many of the most common questions asked here.
