Re: Question on Grub Customizer etc.

Hi, Thanks for all the suggestions. I had to reinstall Mint and it took over Grub control to which I used GC to re-arrange etc. One question though, if MX Tools_>Boot Options conflicts to dramatically, which was my experience, shouldn't there be a BIG warning before the Boot Options which tells the ...

Re: Question on Grub Customizer etc.

Thanks Chris. Since I just installed MX18 even if it blows up I can reinstall. I'm triple booting along with Mint 19.1 and Windows 10. So things could get interesting. I'll reply here just to give a follow-up when done.

Question on Grub Customizer etc.

Hi, It's been awhile since I posted. Busy re-learning programming etc. But that's another topic. I'm wondering about Grub Customizer usage with MX18. I'm getting the feeling they don't play well with each other. Is it unwise to us GC or not? Also, if I don't use GC is there anybody who can explain h...

Qt Editor Question...

Hi, I'm working through a Qt course and getting used to the editor but I know there are short cuts that I don't know. Is there a single key you can hit when at the end of a line like: ("This is an example [cursor here] ") [light bulb here] ? What is the significance of the light bulb? And lastly is ...

Re: Problem with Qt Creator Install..

Back in the day... I hate that phrase :) I was pretty good at the command line. It's been awhile but it does seem to be coming back to me pretty quickly. I assume the "cli" is command line interface?

Re: Problem with Qt Creator Install..

Thanks again to you and Stevo. I think I'm settling on C++. The main reasons are that I've learned it beginning to end at least 3 times over the years but the old addage that "You don't use it... You loose it." is very true. At least for me. This time maybe I'll get it to a similar state as C is for...

Re: Problem with Qt Creator Install..

Thank you Adrian, I just checked and they're already installed. Right now I'm waffling on C++ or Python and which would make me more productive quicker. From where I'm starting it's a hard choice. I'm leaning to C++ because I know MX is mostly made with that but I feel that Python would make me more...

Re: Problem with Qt Creator Install..

The install above fixed it. Ran it and tried the empty app again and all is well. I'm not sure which one did but I'm terribly happy it's fixed.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Problem with Qt Creator Install..

Hi. I thoutht I'd start here first. Just getting started with Qt and ran across a tutorial video on you tube (I know, First mistake) for Qt where the guy installed it on Windows then created a bare bones app with no code, compiled it and ran it to produce an empty window. I copied that on Windows 10...

I'm more than willing to try! I'll look at WindscribeVPN and see what I can do. Sounds interesting.
