I have an AT&T DSL router/wifi that has a password I use to access the network. That's the only password for this device, correct?
There are two passwords:
1) one to get you connected to the router/network/internet
2) one to manage/configure your router

Re: Good MX review

I think I will no longer pursue my proposition on the panel location. That is after considering Eadwine Rose's idea. We don't want bad reviews from those type of users do we? So let them get scared away and not try MX until they have enough Linux experience (or at least learn to be resourceful first...

Re: Good MX review

Panel has no impact on Ditrowatch position. Remember they are just page hits. They may not have even seen MX when they go to Distrowatch, see it listed and then proceed to check it out. The page hit is already recorded whether they keep MX or not. I have to admit it's a mistake for me to refer to t...

Re: Good MX review

I doubt that was just because of the panel. ;) I started out on Mepis, I do believe it was horizontal there, yes, but when we switched to vertical I thought it an interesting look. It was something different from the norm. But I wanted it horizontal nonetheless. Know what I did at the time? I asked...

Re: Good MX review

In my opinion, MX would have been #1 long ago if the default panel bar location was not on the left edge of the screen. Many beginners to Linux come from Windows style menu bar, and the default panel position in MX simply adds to the things a beginner has to get adjusted to. That was my personal ex...

Re: What are your favorite sports to watch - and why

Most of the sports I watch are those which I do myself as past time activities. I usually watch: 1) Mountain bike races - I love watching the UCI mountain bike world cup & world championships (Nino Schurter just won his first WC for 2019 last weekend) . I can stand watching these races that last aro...

Re: MX-19 and systemd

I'm glad we are not ideological driven like antiX and we offer choices to people. In the small poll I created I see that about 10% percent of our users do make use of systemd in one way or another, I'm glad we'll not let them down. That must be the reason why MX became #1 at distrowatch ranking. I ...

Hi all,

Just a blast from the past.
An advertorial I once made for Warren, back in June 2007.
How's Mepis and crew anyway?

Best, Ruud
Twelve years have passed, wow!

Re: Anyone else think Gnome is useless?

GNOME is probably easier for those using touchscreen laptops. Otherwise, it is hard for me to use.
