Re: MX Linux is in 3rd place

Like i said here, these rankings doesn't say anything since they are based on view per page. The Distrowatch ranking doesn't say anything about the amount of MX Linux users, downloads per day/month/year.

Re: Language setting

Re: Installing MX Linux on my laptop

There is a significant good reason to break it up! I do not want to have partitions in which the systems reads/writes a lot on my SSD drive. Avoiding a lot of read/write actions on a SSD drive will extend the lifespan of that SSD drive. A Solid State Drive is worn down relatively quickly by write ac...

Installing MX Linux on my laptop

Hi, Since i have installed MX Linux on my daughters laptop i like MX Linux. Today i installed it on my laptop. The problem i came across is the part were you need to partition the disc. This should be done by using Gparted. Very clumsy and not really user friendly. Especially since i'm used to a fix...

Re: MX Linux is in 3rd place

Please keep in mind that the ranking is based upon view per page . It is not a reliable benchmark. You will find out that with every new release of a distro, it ranking will also go up in that list. Take a good look at the first 4 to 5 linux distributions. They have all released a newer version (Maj...

Re: Firefox keeps asking to be default btowser

There's another solution which makes it a bit more permanent: In the address bar type about:config and press Enter In the Filter field search for browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser Double-click on the entry to change its value to False Close the about:config window It does the same as in the setting ...

Re: After (re)boot audio settings back to default, no sound over HDMI

I was thinking this script in this GitHub repo might work for you: https://gist.github.com/3v1n0/ad3ad73e0bdd466d7f4a95b3aa376285 Where to put this file?? And here is a deb you can download and install that sounds pretty good: http://jeffhoogland.blogspot.com/2014/02/howto-switch-to-hdmi-audio-out....
