Re: WinFF app is using VP8 codec not latest VP9

Then the conversion window shown this error: [libvpx-vp9 encoder @ 0x56080a7a48c0] Value 216.000000 for parameter 'l...

Re: How can i discover what is making difference between df and du output?

Thank You, though it do not bother me how much disk space is actually used. I care about df, because it says disk is full and it makes apps complain it can not save data, so that is why i am asking question i am asking (title of this topic).

Re: No swap => needed to reset computer

make-fstab -s That command returned "Put 1 hard drive entry into fstab", but not added anything additional into /etc/fstab. It contains only my system partition. Though i proceed to make /etc/fstab looking like this: # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump/pass> #-> /dev/sda2 label=roo...

Re: No swap => needed to reset computer

Thank You both, so i enabled zram as advised by stsoh and i think it was a good step. I also tried to use gparted to create new primary partition type linux-swap using gparted as dolphin_oracle did and then in MX Linux i did: $ sudo fdisk -l (to see the swap partition device name. It shown:) /dev/sd...

KSM and MX Linux

Apparently MX Linux has KSM disabled by default, when i enabled it:
echo 1 >/sys/kernel/mm/ksm/run
echo 1000 >/sys/kernel/mm/ksm/sleep_millisecs
i saved around 10MB of memory using this memory deduplication mechanism.

Re: Computer is lagging when there is high I/O on ext. HDD

Are your mouse and keyboard also USB devices? <I don't know> If so, they are sharing the same buss as your busy disk device. I think this is not the case, because my mouse is connected to the PS2 port and it is moving fine during lag, only system and apps do not respond (when i hover over a button ...
