What is the right approach for having different DPI scaling on internal and external screen?

Hello guys, I am happy to see another version of MX linux out. I use MX mainly on older laptops. Now, with the newest release, I am thinking about using it with my Framework 13 laptop. I booted the USB stick, runs fine from USB. However, I struggle with the LCD. Laptop itself has nice screen with 22...

Re: Cannot install linux kernel 6.4 ahs in MX23 [Solved]

Guys, I don't want to necesarilly start a new thread. I searched the help and the website without luck.
Does the newest MX 23 come with signed kernels from Debian? I assume yes, but better asking.

Re: Installing MX KDE on a Windows 11 for dual boot

Hi Fehlix, thanks for the reply. I carefully read the post on anti-x forum: https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/secure-boot-option/ I believe this comes from you. I was able to boot MX on my Framework laptop after playing with mokutil. However, this is machine specific. I am not able to have a &...

Re: Installing MX KDE on a Windows 11 for dual boot

Google and search before asking dumb questions brought me here. I am too struggling with booting live MX Linux 21 on my computer with W11. I thought that only AHS versions come with unsigned Kernel. Do I get it right right that out of the box, none of the MX versions (USB) will boot on computers wit...

Re: 12th gen Framework laptop

@manyroads Thanks for the confirmation. I was not sure if AHS is ready for the 12th gen. Did you update to the latest kernel or you use it as is out of the box?
@Adrian For some reason I was not even thinking about the live distro. I'll do so!

12th gen Framework laptop

I have recently switched to 12th gen Framework laptop and I am happy with it. I am wondering if anyone from the MX Linux community has been using it with the said distribution? For the moment I run W11.
This is a linux-friendly laptop but still with very new HW components.

Thanks for any feedback.

Re: Various thinkpads, MX19 vs MX21 power consumption, kernel differences?

Hello oops , thanks for the reply. I must admit it was bit cryptic for me to understand this. I asked google for help. I understand this is the kernel configuration. However, I should be able to override this with the tlp package when I change the governor, right? Also, I checked quickly the current...

Various thinkpads, MX19 vs MX21 power consumption, kernel differences?

Happy new year everyone. I am setting up Home Assistant server for our new home. I also have a weird hobby and collect older ThinkPad laptops. I thought I would use an older Thinkpad X61T (tablet) to run the Home Assistant server. This Core2Duo laptop, bundeled with the MX21 FLuxbox edition, is a gr...

Re: Development suggestion: Hybrid graphics support

I apologize for not sharing the specs. For instance, Ubuntu, PopOS, Arch, they have even their small tray icons for controlling the dedicated graphics card. This solves the power management, applications as well as external screens management works without further configurations. A lot of work has ...

Re: Development suggestion: Hybrid graphics support

Instead of asking for a feature that already exists to be added to MX perhaps you can edit the subject of your original post to say what the actual problem is: "Nvidia driver installer fails with missing dependencies" then post your Quick System Info so someone can try to help you. (By th...
