Re: Tweaking antiX Fluxbox to look more "modern"

Hi! I'm ending my days tweaking my OS looks, I already managed to do what I set for and fortunatly I no longer have spare time to dedicate to this... But I wanted to let you folks know that I edited my original post, because I found a more elegant way to force the use of any kind of font on Fluxbox ...

Re: Tweaking antiX Fluxbox to look more "modern"

PPC, in case you haven't found it, in the antixforum topic I've posted a reply to the "why... can't set the font" question. Here, after reading your more detailed description, I'm grabbing at a couple other possible straws. toolbar.*.font:font100icons I'm surprised to read this (b/c I tend to read ...

Tweaking antiX Fluxbox to look more "modern"

Hi everyone. The point of this "tutorial" is to easily tweak antiX Fluxbox DE in order to achieve a more modern look. I was inspired by MX Linux look. My test desktop looks like this: https://vgy.me/DpALXm.jpg Yes, it's possible to achieve a very close look and feel to MX Linux using only antiX and ...

Re: First Impressions of MX-18

hi! Happy new year, everyone. I only took a peek at MX18 (in distrotest) and the first impression I got was it was a continuation (continuum :-)) of the previous version. I've read here in the forum that basicly MX 17.x updates itself to 18 and it's a good thing, dispite the previous scare I got fro...

epiphany browser - gpu use and volume setting changes

hi In my recent saga to try to use gpu accelerated video decoding on a browser (I sort of tried chromium, patched version), I found that epiphany browser (the full name of Gnome's "Web") has a different engine than chromium or Firefox based browsers that should use hardware to decode video. My first...

Re: Suggestion - MX Setup

@colin_b: I get the need to make things easy for new users, but I belive that there's no need for the menu you suggested. It's a good idea, but redundant in MX (at least it's my opinion). MX is already the most newbie oriented distro (I'm talking about stuff like changing the bar location and such) ...

Re: Chromium patched to allow gpu decoded video

Do you have a link to the instructions on how to create AppImages for deb files? We could use that to create those for MX 15/16 where we can build debs on MX 17, but not the older platform. I also know how to put an Appimage into a deb file itself, in order to have it in our repo. Hi Stevo, if you ...

Chromium patched to allow gpu decoded video

Hi. It's not very important to me, but recently I tried using my MX desktop to view a HD youtube video and it was very choppy and my cpu usage was maxed out at 100%. I have a nvidia GeForce GT 730 (the best piece of hardware this single core machine has!!!) I looked on-line and found out that Firefo...

Re: DistroWatch MX page hit ranking over 7 days is #1

@Bitjam
:-) it will run on almost anything. But I have antiX on my netbook (funny enough with MX themes and icons :-)) Basically, if antiX doesn't run on it, you may as well use it as a door stopper...
