ok, thank you for responding. But I am not sure what you mean. I downloaded the iso from Distrowatch, burned it to a usb. booted from the usb...and stopped at the error msg and gave me two options. 1. shut down or 2. reboot. Anyway, no big deal. trying out a different OS. thanks for the help.

ok, i checked and there is NO secure boot or fast boot in Bios.

I tried installing from usb, and now from dvd. and i get stuck on this part of the install.

Message pops up on gathering info...and hangs there for at least 10-15 minutes.
