There's lots of reasons why that might be happening, but you need to post your system info first. Run the "Quick System Info" tool from your MXTools and paste the results between code tags in a reply (push the button labeled "</>" in your reply editor for code tags).

I'm a contract network and cybersecurity engineer. I use MX almost exclusively on all my machines (only booting up M$ in exceedingly rare circumstances, and certainly never when security is at stake). I use MX for all the day-to-day things that everyone else does, but also for all of the networks I ...

Dang, I guess I lucked out. I just rebuilt my older 4th-gen Intel desktop into a Ryzen 5 3600 with an X470 board (and I'm using the built-in realtek audio), and have had zero audio problems, in or out. I'll grab a couple other analog mics I have lying around and see if there's any difference, but so...

I'll let someone else answer your second question -- however I have an additional tip that might rear it's ugly head during your attempts to install a new NVIDIA driver. If you haven't already, open up your MX Boot Options and make sure that the splash screen theme is unchecked (disabled) -- if it's...

I had a similar situation with my Conky -- I eventually figured out that any time I clicked on my desktop (even icons), my Conky would disappear. To get it to come back, I would have to click on "Conky Toggle" twice to get it to come back (which means it wasn't crashing, it was still running, so the...
Very interesting! Earlier with MX-17 I was getting things called ideapad_laptop this and ideapad_laptop that. Particularly when running rfkill. I am going to try your suggestion. Did you stumble on this or was it an educated guess? An educated guess got me going in the right direction. I looked at ...
The computer is a Lenovo YOGA 730-15ikb. Intel Core i7-8550U, both Intel and nVidia graphics, 16 GB ram, 4K display. No flavor of MX-17 will run correctly on it. None of the monthlys. The wireless (rtl8822be) simply does not work. Richard, I had the same problem as you with my brand new Lenovo Y700...
