Re: Trying to get tv capture card working in Mx linux

How can I install the ppa custom kernel listed in Happauge link to use in Mxlinux? Since it hasn't been engineered to directly work with stretch will I encounter any problems? Is it possible at this point without more tweaking?

Re: Xmas Gift

Re: mxlinux18 and luks encryption

I will be following this feed too, since I also need security for HIPAA/ PIPA and GDPR type compliance. Curious to know what different options are adopted here.

Re: Trying to get tv capture card working in Mx linux

The issue is that the driver & firmware for the newer ATSC cards don't work the way the older NTSC ones did in Linux. I need to go to a custom ubuntu mediatree kernel to get card working which is what is provided by Hauppauge. The linux engineer working for Hauppauge said he will start to port it fo...

Re: Trying to get tv capture card working in Mx linux

If you could give me instructions on how to import the required files without breaking MX i'd be grateful! https://github.com/b-rad-ndi/ubuntu-media-tree-kernel-builder is the source of the custom kernel with necessary alternations. I am using the 18.04 version on desktop via Linuxmint tara currentl...

Re: Trying to get tv capture card working in Mx linux

I have 2 of the older Huappauge 2255 model pci cards as well as the new WinTV-QuadHD on my desktop. The quad card is the one giving me issues since I have to use the custom ppa linux media kernel to get os to detect & use the tuner properly. For the older one I just add the fw file to the lib/firmwa...

Re: XUL based Applications besides Palemoon

I was mainly wanting a pre web based email client like Thunderbird Ver 52 build with newer version hahaving moved to WebExtension APIs since they are still tied to Mozilla. Ideally I would like a security updated version of Fossamail. I like Moonchild's iteration of Goanna gecko for 64 bit support. ...
