Re: Theme switched..how to switch back?

It's possible this is a corrupted install, or that their hard drive is having issues. If you can't see the option to change desktop environments after logging out, that's a good indicator something is wrong with the install. Also, systems don't normally change desktop environments on their own. A fo...

Re: Theme switched..how to switch back?

Easiest solution is to backup all your data (including all of your bookmarks and passwords in your browser). Then write down all the programs you need on a piece of paper. Re: Problems with big December package update

I just did some testing. adding ecryptfs-utils from te root account should work to restore access to home folder. And it did! I'm replying from my original account! Thank you! It does bring up some issues, though. I did have my root password, and I was able to get in using that because the root dir...

Re: Problems with big December package update

I found another significant problem following the December update. One of my machines uses encrypted home folders and I discovered, following the update, that ecryptfs-utils is marked as no longer needed by any installed packages and marked for removal if "apt-get autoremove" is run. Unfo...

Re: Full disk encryption

Hi! I use Linux Mint XFCE (18.3) with FDE (LUKS). I actually like having to enter in a password twice...in my case, I can use two different passwords, which I think gives a bit more security as well.
