Re: MX Updates Is Stuck

When I ran into that, I right clicked on the taskbar update box and used "update by synaptic". There's probably one or more packages that aren't available, and Synaptic will let you know. You should get the option of installing the others. Now, that worked for me, but I would wait for one of the Mod...

Re: Problems with big December package update

I just did some testing. adding ecryptfs-utils from te root account should work to restore access to home folder. And it did! I'm replying from my original account! Thank you! It does bring up some issues, though. I did have my root password, and I was able to get in using that because the root dir...

Re: Problems with big December package update

I found another significant problem following the December update. One of my machines uses encrypted home folders and I discovered, following the update, that ecryptfs-utils is marked as no longer needed by any installed packages and marked for removal if "apt-get autoremove" is run. Unfortunately ...

Re: Scanner Issues

It might be worth trying the scangear driver Cannon uses for their Inkjet MG700 all in one printer (I've used it successfully). Here's a link to the debian package: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/1/0100006271/01/scangearmp2-3.00-1-deb.tar.gz It's from this page: https://canondrivers.blog/2017/08/24/dri...

Re: Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons missing in Chrominum

Changing system title bar and borders worked (after closing and re-opening Chrominum!). Thanks!

[solved] Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons missing in Chrominum

So, the window control buttons are fine for all the other browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Pale Moon), but Chrominum is the oddball, missing the Min/Max/Close buttons on the right side. They are missing both when the browser is maxed out, or not! Any suggestions would be a help. I'm using XFCE, MX 17 on a...

Re: Full disk encryption

Hi! I use Linux Mint XFCE (18.3) with FDE (LUKS). I actually like having to enter in a password twice...in my case, I can use two different passwords, which I think gives a bit more security as well. I am intrigued with MX, though for work purposes I would need FDE if I'm to use it on my laptop. Gre...
