Re: Screen shuts down unexpectedly after Nvidia update

Now I reinstalled all the drivers and everything went fine, although after removing I rebooted the computer, and screens stayed still blank as with drivers. Then I installed the drivers and then everything was fine, until it just made that again. So could it be hardware problem then? Failure between...

from what source did the nvidia updates come? the regular repository? do you even get a boot menu?
I used the nvidia installer tool. And I don't get anything visible on screens. Both screens first go to suspend mode, and won't activate even on startup.

Screen shuts down unexpectedly after Nvidia update

On Monday I updated my Nvidia drivers. In the end of udpate there came some warnings, which I ignored. After the update my both screens have started to shut down unexpectedly, usually soon after the first boot. I cannot give any inputs so only way is to shut down from power button. Now on startup th...

Archiver not working

So I tried to make backup of my files. I usually make them as zip file with archiver. Now when I try to make it, it only shows amount of files and CPU goes to full load, and that's all. Has anyone else had this kind of experience?

Best practices with SSD in 2019

I am planning to replace my laptop HDD with SSD after Debian Buster is released. The only problem is my ignorance with SSDs. From Google almost all results are from years 2011-2014 when SSD technology was not as developed as nowadays. So, all SSD users, please list here current Do's and Don'ts.

Re: Want it, with MX-18 on it

Is it possible to get system76 folks convinced to add MX for officially supported OS'es to system76 devices? Because I have so much bad experiences working with Ubuntu that I don't mind to use any Ubuntu-derivative, especially with Gnome DE.

Re: 4pane not saving the layout

@Kruppt: Yes, I had checked the save on exit, and also clicked the save settings multiple times without any effect. @Stevo: yes, I downloaded the .deb package from its home page and installed it. I sent email to the creator, who confirmed this issue as bug, and promised to fix it. Regarding to him t...

4pane not saving the layout

So I now found the 4pane file manager, which is really great. Only big problem is that it does not save the layout settings as it should if the terminal emulator is enabled, and always when I open FM, the terminal is in full screen mode, so I need to resize it to bottom manually or by opening new ta...

Re: Problems after todays updates (SOLVED)

So is it safe yet to install all those updates?

Usually when I get notification about new updates, I run updater immediately, but now when there was 92 :veryhot: updates available I decided to check from here was there any reason for that big amount of updates.
