Re: Firefox problem with downloads [Solved]
Thanks to both of you. Sorry I forgot the QSI, but the download problem is fixed now. I renamed the hidden directory ~/.mozilla to .mozilla.old. Then restarted Firefox and it created a new directory .mozilla and downloads worked. I deleted the new .mozilla and renamed .mozilla.old back to .mozilla a...

Firefox problem with downloads [Solved]
Recently, in Firefox anytime I try to download a file it fails. Vivaldi succeeds. In Firefox under Settings > General > Files and Applications > Downloads I can no longer enter the name of a directory in the box nor use the Browse button to designate a directory. If I open the Downloads directory, w...

Installer can create Btrfs subvolumes? [Solved]
From the DistroWatch review (see https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=739261#p739261) Timeshift is included to help make backups of files. Though when Btrfs is used as the root filesystem it isn't set up with the sub-volumes used by Timeshift to make filesystem snapshots. That isn’t right is it...

Re: MX Linux: Live USB with Persistence vs. Straight Install on External Drive - Seeking Recommendations [Solved]
To add to what @pbear wrote, there is a thread from 30 Jan 2023 in which @fehlix discusses (in several comments in that thread) the same topic of being able to boot an installed MX from MBR/BIOS or UEFI boot mode.

I can't run PIA VPN after install from MXPI [Solved]
After installing (and reinstalling) piavpn-downloader-installer [21.08.01] => (21.08.01) from the Popular Apps of MXPI, the app history shows it as installed but it doesn't show up in the Whisker Menu and trying to run the app from the terminal doesn't work. Please suggest the next step(s). Thank yo...

Re: Setting up Proton free VPN?
Now I remember why I stopped using it in linux. It was a terminal client nightmare. What started me on this thread was that Proton now has a Debian gui app for their VPN service. It would be great if it could be packaged for MXPI. [I am not talking about the cli version which is already in the test...
