Fixed Zoom: a Firefox Addon

I recently replaced my laptop that has a small display (12.5"/317 mm and 1366x768 pixels) with the next newer model of the same size display but 1920x1080 pixels. This resulted in small fonts, etc that are often hard to read. For browsing the internet with Firefox the Fixed Zoom addon is working gre...

Re: Newer version available?

Thanks Jerry. The MX Wiki and the Ubuntu article the wiki links to are more clear than what I found before I posted. So if I understand correctly the current .iso file is the state of MX at the beginning of July and the .zsync file contains subsequent updates in July. Right? I installed zsync from t...

Re: Newer version available?

If a person visits the sourceforge site to get the most current download, say for the 64-bit version, I assume they would download MX-18.3_July_x64.iso . I typically also download the verification files .md5, .sha512, and .sig. However, based on the downloads/week data not many people do. Mainly, I'...

Re: Unable to connect to the internet using USB Wifi adapter

I've used a Panda USB wifi adapter for years with several Debian and/or Ubuntu based Linux distros including MX.
Single band here or dual band here.

The Panda PAU05 and PAU07 adapters use the Ralink RT5372 chipset.

Re: Ctrl+Alt+Del on Linux?

In the Keyboard app under the Application Shortcuts tab, the shortcut for xkill is shown as Ctrl+Alt+Esc. However, you can edit that if you like.

Re: Load error/boot error from USB w/ persistence

Thanks, fehlix. Oh, too bad. I choose the SanDisk Ultra Fit largely because it has a low profile (doesn't stick out much from the side of the laptop). Does anyone know a good low profile 3.0 or 3.1 USB stick with fast read/write speeds? The Samsung FIT Plus looks good except it doesn't really have t...

Load error/boot error from USB w/ persistence

With MX Live USB Maker I installed MX on a new 16GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB stick and am running it with static persistence set to default sizes. I am using the USB stick on a Lenovo X250 with Windows 10 installed on the internal SSD. Frequently (more than 50% of the time) when I boot up with the MX U...

Re: Can my system use the ram installed

Nice command, Stevo. Running it on my Dell 7010 (same computer as OP) yields a max of 32 GB. $ sudo dmidecode ...[snip]...
