Re: SOLVED Are there any bible memory apps for Linux?

If you don't mind using Wine, I did get Scripture Memory System for Windows to install and it seems to be working fine, including the computer voice that reads the verses. http://www.memoryverses.org/ Download: http://www.memoryverses.org/smsw.html I know I had tried to install it in the past, but I...

Re: Are there any bible memory apps for Linux?

Sounds fair Jay, I'm not always up on the best forum etiquette. Just another note; I've also installed the Windows version of BibleMemorizer under Wine, it works until I attempt to change preferences to select which punctuation and spelling errors it considers mistakes, then it crashes. I haven't fo...

Re: Are there any bible memory apps for Linux?

I see what you mean about the cursor being a little ahead of where it belongs. I seem to have helped it quite a bit by changing the default font under MX to Noto Sans 10.95 (MX Tools>Setup/Tweak>Xfce Settings>Appearance>Fonts), at least most of the time I can tell where the cursor is if I need to g...

Re: Are there any bible memory apps for Linux?

I can rebuild the Ubuntu version on MX, using Qt 4 instead of 3, but it doesn't seem to get the texts with libsword, like you already reported. Thanks Stevo, I think that would be helpful. I find it useful even without the texts, especially as it's the only native Linux one I can get to work at all...

Re: Are there any bible memory apps for Linux?

I had forgotten about this one: https://sourceforge.net/projects/telbiblememory/

I never got it to work on my system. It has an i386.deb installer, so maybe if you have a 32 bit system. Also not actively developed in years.

Re: Bible software very outdated

This may well be applicable: https://github.com/crosswire/xiphos/issues/955 In fact, Xiphos editor is built upon WebKitGtk or GtkHTML libraries. Debian has dropped support for both, so eventually Deb devs built Xiphos without the editor. libgtkhtml-editor-4.0-0 is available in Sid, maybe you can mak...

Re: Are there any bible memory apps for Linux?

Hi Duane, Unfortunately, as far as I can find there are no actively developed ones. However I'm using BibleMemorizer http://biblememorizer.sourceforge.net/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/biblememorizer/files/biblememorizer/ It seems to have a niggle or two; the Sword plugin doesn't work, so I manu...

Re: Bible software very outdated

In Xiphos the editor for Studypad (File>Open Studypad) and personal commentary doesn't open for me in the version in the Test Repo (4.1.0). It does when I have the stable version installed.
