Re: Your favorite dock panel?

I've been an Openbox user for ~10 years, initially I used a pretty small Xfce panel, until I discovered Tint(2). For quite some time I've been using Tint2 in combination with the Openbox Configuration Manager / Dock - settings. This allows me to place my Tint2 panel on the Openbox screen, in a posit...

Re: VPNs and MX

The same as richb - Private Internet Access (PIA), older classic version that doesn't need systemd. It works great, I'm still a very happy customer. :)

Re: What init system do you use on MX, the default (sysVinit) or systemd?

I've loved using OpenRC; SysV, Runit, on their various home distros & on the BSD's; plus whatever the Amiga OS & the Mac OS prior to OS/X & OS/X too, use. There have also been some other inits from wierd OS's that I can't remember, & of course whatever Haiku is using. I've known what the various OS'...

Re: SJW's trying to take over Linux? What?!

Some people are more sensitive than others. That's life. No matter what you do or say, someone will disagree with it/you. There are extremists nomatter where or what, they so often make their point of view the prevailing view. Sociopaths/psychopaths generally have what it takes to out compete their ...

Re: Occasionally hanging at boot

I get a few different failures at boot:

Kernel panics
a freeze with complaint about not finding something systemd related
an ACPI complaint

I have always (different distros) had fairly regular boot failures on this machine.

I put it down to a bugged BIOS on the Clevo. (never bothered to upgrade it)

Re: EU’s Parliament Signs Off on Disastrous Internet Law: What Happens Next?

The title of the thread was the identical (copied/pasted) title of the topic on the linked to EFF page.

[edit:] Beyond that, what's not political? You can keep conversations out of religion & race, but not politics, they are just too far reaching. As this topic demonstrates.

Re: Privacy and Security of Vivaldi browser and vivaldi.net free email

@thomasl You may very well be right on all counts. Either way, Iridium satisfies me as a browser, so I'm not fretting over the loss of Vivaldi. ;)

Cheers

Piwik, was enough for me & Vivaldi. Iridium satisfies me, from my research & in my setup. :)
