Re: Password fun - not

How do I get to seahorse or Password and Keys, or even Gnome keyring to sort it out? Type in Whisker-menu search field "pass" and do change the password of the login-keyring accordingly. Why is it so complicated to change a ruddy password, even the help page is written in gobbldy gook? Couldn't it ...

To start seahores (passwords and keyrings):

Step 1. Press F4 (terminal)

Step 2. Type in terminal:

$ seahorse

and press Enter.

That's it.

Code: Select all

pete@mx:~
 $ seahorse
bash: $: command not found

Password fun - not

I used MX User Manager to change the user password and the root password and they are fine, but when I open a terminal and use sudo, it requires the old password, not the new root one. What have I done wrong or not done? I changed them because I fear a website or hacker may have tried to invade my M...

Re: Discuss init here if you wish

We are looking into an innocuous way of hiding it that lets you easily switch back and forth to see the flood of text. Mint hides it with a loading graphic just as MS used to on Windows. Don't you remember that useless bar thing that never matched it's size with the length of loading time left on XP?

Grub Customizer

Has Grub Customizer been removed from the MX 18 repo? I was using a copy to install a respin to a computer and discovered it was missing from the whisker menu and it wasn't in the repos either.

Re: Is there a way to run MX on a USB across different machines?

Surely all the OP needs to know is to make a copy of MX on a USB using 'MX Live USB Maker', click 'Full featured mode and
set percent of USB to use to 50%, etc.
Then all he has to do when the USB stick has been made is stick it in any PC and boot off it, and selecting F5 Persistence all.

Re: My wifi usb adapters wont work on 5 meters usb cable

I'd imagine you haven't got the correct driver installed on MX for those wifi USB units.
