After following the instructions in the Acer link "change from sata mode to ahci", bootloader now shows up again. No need of "grub>" nor grub "rescue>". I did that change when first installed MX, but didn't notice it had reversed back. Still a lot to learn. I'd like to...

Sorry, I have close to zero knowledge about that app "thinkorswim".
As mention if you have always used autologin, and suddenly an app starts to request to get the keyring unlocked,
maybe something with the app is "broken".

During all my futzing around with my USB drive and trying different formatting, I found that the USB drive shows in Thunar as soon as plugged in, but I have to click on it to mount.
