Re: Clicking a Link in an email doesn't oper Firefox...until later.

.. that went into this "fix" Well, that fix, is a workaround, but does not take into account the Xfce preferred application mechanism. As soon as a user selects another preferred web-browser the provided fix would be broken. The solution instead would be look like to get rid of those generated user...

Re: How do I make xrandr changes permanent?

Is there anything else to try? Probably a good idea to post some info "Quick System Info" about your system and what TV/Monitor mark/model it is. Also note some HDMI variants might be limited with 4K Display on 60 Hz. Minimum would be HDMI 2.0, and in theory HDMI 2.0 should provide 3840 x 2160 @60H...

Re: grub2 vers. 2.04-rc1

May I request this here? It is already in Debian experimental now. Reason: I was informed that Oracle have it patched so that it will be able to provide two arguments to initrd. This would help to boot Archlinux or Manjaro. Perhaps we let it go through some quality testing cycle first through sid. ...

Re: How do I make xrandr changes permanent?

I rebooted, and no difference. The 60 Hz option is still gone from the display manager. The weird thing is the TV I had just prior to this ran the 60 Hz without a problem. But its HDMI ports all died at once, so I exchanged it for this current one. I’m beginning to wonder of the screen I have is ju...

Re: Network printer- Canon IR-adv 4225

Sir. That is novel idea. I will get back to you after testing the same. Printer is connected to Socket://192.168.1.28. Port no. 9100. You might not see the "user:pwd@" string within this uri, when press apply in Printer-Setup. But you can check that the printer uri changed e.g. by this: sudo grep 1...

Re: How do I make xrandr changes permanent?

$ xrandr --newmode "3840x2160_60.00" 712.75 3840 4160 4576 5312 2160 2163 2168 2237 -hsync +vsync $ xrandr --addmode HDMI-A-0 "3840x2160_60.00" The 60 Hz option is back in the display manager but still doesn't "take". So when you now tell xrandr to use the newmode with: xrandr --output HDMI-A-0 --m...

Re: Network printer- Canon IR-adv 4225

Mx Linux is not asking any departmental and password while giving print instructions. Would you mind adding your print I'd and password into the URI Either this way socket://26:4455@192.168.1.28:9100 or ipp://26:4455@192.168.1.28/ipp an see whether the printer (billing) authentication get passed th...
