Is there any way to keep grub working fine on the microSD?
With some more info ... may be,
e.g. something like those:
-> Quick System Info
-> lsblk -f
-> parted -l

Re: systemctl list-units

$ sudo systemctl list-units Failed to list units: No such method 'ListUnitsFiltered' Is this as expected? I'm trying to get to the status of systemd timers Yes it is. If you boot with sysVinit, which is the default in Mx Linux, the existing systemd timers: /etc/systemd/system/timers.target.wants/fs...

The System Locales in MX Tools did not work for me, for some reason. Yes, it makes me feel special. The above did. I have no idea why there was a difference.
Any idea what you made to your nice system to get it borked :bawling:

Re: Frugal - why 'demo/usb-live-storage' owned by 'root'?...

Previously in the distro mx 16 demo was the owner. I run mxlinux, either as iso in hd with grub4dos or in pendrive, and I solved the inconvenience of having direct access to the root as. Although it is annoying because firefox does not run as root in linux, not in win10. Not sure, whether running a...

Re: are your locales borked?

If you are experiencing problems with your system locales, this may help you out. It did me. :bagoverhead: http://eirenicon.org/knowledge-base/locales-repair/ Please ask how locales are handled with MX Linux, and perhaps have a look into the MX User manual, if you are going to advice how to deal wi...

Re: Frugal - why 'demo/usb-live-storage' owned by 'root'?...

Thanks for the info fehlix. The trouble is the '/home/demo/Live-usb-storage' folder is locked to root ownership and cannot be changed (su terminal chmod/chown). But I think I know what the issue was/is... ...which prevents selecting ntfs partitions for frugal installing! So, I presume there's a kno...

Re: [SOLVED!] antiX's Chroot Rescue Scan from 19b2

What confused me, I found in MXPI program: chroot-rescue so I was running it as: sudo chroot-rescue The chroot-rescue package provides these chroot-rescue command line tools: chroot-rescue chroot-rescue-select chroot-rescue-scan From those the chroot-rescue-scan is probably the easiest to use to st...

Like I said I can now access it but what I didn't notice is that it's read only.
Is it mounted as read-only or is it a ownership/permission read-only ?

Re: Frugal - why 'demo/usb-live-storage' owned by 'root'?...

Is this how it should be, or is there a workaround? The Live-USB-Storage feature, was first introduced for LiveUSB's, hence the name. And it was also made availabl for frugal installs, keeping the existing name. If enabled (which is the default) the folder /home/demo/Live-usb-storage is "bind"-moun...
