Is there a way to use a kernel that's much older - like from 2012 or 2013 that might be more suited to the hardware specifics of this Mac mini?
To see the kernel errors and warnings:

Code: Select all

dmesg -k -l emerg,alert,crit,err,warn
or
dmesg -k -l emerg,alert,crit,err,warn,notice

Re: CPU temp stays at/above 75C at idle, 80C with usage

thermald seems to make no difference. After just opening a few websites in Pale Moon, CPU temp is at 76C. I will have to read up on how to change kernels. I do not have solution, your ondemand mode seems to work correctly 'around 800-900Mhz for each cores, so I do not know why your CPU temp is at 8...

Re: CPU temp stays at/above 75C at idle, 80C with usage

I'm pretty sure you're only going to see Performance and Powersave as cpufreq options with our backported Debian kernels, since they will be using the pstate power management instead of cpufreq, but you can install the Liquorix kernel and the indicator for cpufreq, since those kernel still use cpuf...

Re: CPU temp stays at/above 75C at idle, 80C with usage

.... I am hesitant to switch to MX full time because I don't know if continued usage at such a high temperature will cause hardware issues. I don't typically turn my machine off for weeks. If anyone has suggestions or knowledge about this, I would be very thankful. Maybe you can try to check again ...

Re: MX 18 remonter problèmes

Salut Cyrillus,

Re: Enabling numlock on login screen

... I don't know if anyone is still following this or not, but the way I enable numlock at login is to install the numlockx package and then create a small /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/10_numlockx.conf file: [SeatDefaults] greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx on I do it that way because you would ...
